This band, Volbeat, is one of my favorites, and I like most all their songs. This song fit the prompt really good.

From a Wiki article:

Heaven nor Hell” is a song by Danish heavy metal band Volbeat. The song was released as the third single from the band’s fourth studio album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven. The song is Volbeat’s major breakthrough in America, being their first single to reach the number one spot on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.[1]

“Heaven Nor Hell”, by Volbeat was released as a single in 2010. It was written by Michael Poulsen, and is on the EMI-Vertigo-Republic-Universal labels.

Well, I've heard that the devil's walking around
I sold my soul way down in the dirt
But stole it back and forever in debt

And for a moment I don't even care
Until I feel his breath at my neck
And maybe even you can feel it too
He's on a strike and looking at you

Holding onto his words, but baby
I saw an angel become the devil
Still they look pretty good hand in hand
Well baby, I don't need any of them
Heaven nor hell

Well, I've heard that the morning star of a prince
Was invoked on a Monday on earth
I found his business card in the mud

And for a moment I don't even care
Until I feel his breath at my neck
And maybe even you can feel it too
He's on a strike and looking at you

Holding onto his words, but baby
I saw an angel become the devil
Still they walk pretty good hand in hand
Well baby, I don't need any of them
Heaven nor hell

Evil came down on earth
And it beholds more than you love
More than you love

Heaven don't fall on earth
What you behold is no longer a word
No longer a word

Well, I've heard that the devil's walking around
I sold my soul way down in the dirt
But stole it back and forever in debt

And for a moment I don't even care
Until I feel his breath at my neck
And maybe even you can feel it too
He's on a strike and looking at you

Holding onto his words, but baby
I saw an angel become the devil
Still they look pretty good hand in hand
Well baby, I don't need any of them
Heaven nor hell

Memories…

I know I’ve featured this song a time or two on the blog, but it’s one of my favorite songs. To me it seems to speak to the tragedy of Alzheimer’s, in that many memories are lost, but at times a glimmer of those memories may flash back to you. Also, that things may be different, yet there is always a new beginning when we can make new memories.

All that is just my opinion on this song. I couldn’t find any specifics about it, but if you want to read more about this Danish rock band, here is the Wiki article:

“The Bliss”, by Volbeat, was released in 2016, from the album, “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie”. It’s written by Michael Poulsen.

Memory, your lamp light is burning holes
Recover the damage, bring it all home
Follow the bliss just like summer song
Please stay there forever, I’ll try to remember
Come homeMemory, you gave me another note
A voice that is endless, bring it all home
Oh what it is feels like a summer song
I’ll stay here forever, her face I rememberPresenting a new beginning
Forever you and I
And when the morning gets lonely
And life is out of sight
Then we’ll be leaving together, you and IHappiness, I’m sorry you’ve been on hold
The doors will be open, bring it all home
‘Cause what it is, feels like a summer song
I’ll stay here forever now that I rememberPresenting a new beginning
Forever you and I
And when the morning gets lonely
And life is out of sight
Then we’ll be leaving together, you and IFor all these symbols don’t open our eyes
We’ll close them instead, leave the messenger behind
But one day we will knowPresenting a new beginning
Forever you and I
And when the morning gets lonely
And life is out of sight
Then we’ll be leaving, then we’ll be leaving
Presenting a new beginning
Forever you and I
And when the morning gets lonely
And life is out of sight
Then we’ll be leaving together, you and IThen we’ll be leaving together, you and I
Then we’ll be leaving together, you and ISource: LyricFindSongwriters: Michael PoulsenThe Bliss lyrics © BMG Rights Management

51 Weeks/51 Songs From the Past – Finale

51 Weeks: 51 Songs From The Past: Week 51: Paul McCartney & Wings – Mull Of Kintyre

This is the final week of Hugh’s challenge. I’ll be sad to see it end, but he has mentioned there will be something new coming up soon. Thanks for hosting, Hugh! I’ve enjoyed listening to lots of music during the year, some old favorites, and some new to me. It was fun to find songs to go with your prompt. 🙂

So, we are to find a favorite song that we’d like to hear for the New Year. I’m not sure if it is to be a song about New Year’s Day, or just a favorite of mine.

The song I listened to the most this year is the one I’ll go with. It was the favorite of mine for the year.

Memories…

I know I’ve featured this song a few times on the blog, but I think it works for a New Year song, too. It seems to speak to the tragedy of Alzheimer’s, in that many memories are lost, but at times a glimmer of those memories may flash back to you. Also, that things may be different, yet there is always a new beginning. What I get too, is that it is the start of a brand new year, and a time to make new memories.

I’m also adding this post to Linda’s “Just Jot It January”. The prompt word for this challenge is ‘Memories’.  It has been suggested by Cage Dunn, and can be found here: https://cagedunn.wordpress.com/2018/01/03/if-you-want-to-be-heard/

This week for SOCS we have to think of the word/letters ‘vol’. That’s not even a word, you say? True, but we can use any word that has ‘vol’ in it. Yay!

I’ve thought of several, so here goes…

Volunteer – I don’t remember that I’ve ever done any volunteer work, so can’t write about that.

Volumn – wait, had to look up how to spell this, and it is ‘volume’! (haha, I thought I was good at spelling, but I’ve found I have to look up words more often now)

Anyway, Volume…

I like volume (not with a capital letter this time, or maybe it should be VOLUME!) Most times I like to listen to music very loud. I like to sing along, but can’t carry a tune for anything. So, if the music is turned up really loud, I can sing along, and no one can actually hear my out of tune singing. Ya think?

Another volume is for my hair. I have very fine, straight hair that won’t curl for anything, but I want more volume in it. So, I backcomb/rat/tease the top so it will look fuller, with more volume.

And this brings us to the very first thing I thought of when I read the prompt of ‘vol’.

Volbeat

Volbeat is one of my favorite bands. I really like all their songs. (Oh no, you say…here comes another music video from me. You are right!) Now, excuse me a second while I go find one to share. Okay? It’ll just take a tiny bit of time… Take this interlude to think your own thoughts about the prompt, ‘vol’.

Here’s one of my favorite videos from Volbeat!

So, that’s my thoughts on the prompt, ‘vol’. Hope your weekend is full of Bliss, and at the volume you prefer. 🙂

SPIDER DANCE – Just Jot It January 2017

SPIDER DANCE

Weave your web of love around me

Seduce me with your words, sublime

Silken strands to hold and bind me

Capture me…I’ll call you mine…

Spin your web in sticky spirals

I’ll never want to flee,

Lure me with your lyrics, love…

Come closer…come get me.

Dance with me, my Spider…dance…

Be wanton with your wildness,

Pierce me with your poisonous lance,

Our rebel love is reckless.

***

I wrote this poem back in 2015. I like anything to do with spiders…the way they look, all so different, that they are kind of scary, and that they are beneficial by catching annoying insects. If I see one I try to take a photo of it. I don’t run screaming from the room, and most times I leave them where they are. I do catch spiders sometimes, if they are in the house, releasing it outside.

Here’s a song I like, about a woman and her spider dance. 🙂

The song is called “Lola Montez” by Volbeat. It was based on a true story, of the woman, and her Spider Dance. I just call it the Spider Dance song, because of the lyrics.
