Action – Where It Is!

Paul Revere and the Raiders. This band was my favorite back in the 60s, and I liked all their songs. They were featured on Dick Clark’s television show, “Where the Action Is”, which came on every afternoon. Then, when they took the show on tour, they came to our town. My best friend and I got tickets to go see them, and all the other bands that were traveling along. That might have been the first concert I ever went to, and it was a dream come true for me and my friend.

It was the early spring of 1966, a beautiful sunny day, and we were both 15 years old. The concert was amazing. Afterwards, we made our way out to the back of the venue to see the band as they got on their tour bus to leave. I was waving and hollering, and I know for a fact that one of the guys saw me, smiled, and waved back to me.

Such good memories of that day, and hearing this song and all their other ones bring me right back to that day.

This is my vintage Seiko watch. My husband bought it for me when he was in Viet Nam, in 1970. It is a wind-up watch (no battery), and still works. The lighting here isn’t very good, but the watch is all stainless silver (not tarnished) with a blue face.

“This Is It”, by Polly Cutter, was the theme song for the TV show, “One Day at a Time”, which aired from 1975-1984. The song was written and composed by Brill Building, Jeff Barry, and Nancy Barry.

We were asked if we listen to music when we are writing/typing, and what that would be. Thanks for the prompt, Hugh!

***

I don’t listen to much music when I’m writing/typing. If I do, it’s always the Eagles Greatest Hits. I’ll even put “Take it to the Limit” on repeat, and hear it over and over. I’ve posted these songs probably more than once on here, so will feature a different type of music, today.

I do my writing during the day, and the mister is home all day, and watches TV. The TV is right beside my computer, so I hear whatever he flips the channel to. Mostly it is the serial show “NCIS”, one episode after another. There is some channel flipping going on too, between several stations, but I think only this one has music.

So, this is what I mostly hear a whole bunch of times every day. I like the music, but after awhile, it gets so irritating!

“NCIS Theme”, is written by Joseph Conlan, and Brian Kirk. It is performed by the group called, “Numeriklab”, and those band members are, Matt Hawkins, Maurice Jackson, and Neil Martin. The TV show, “NCIS” premiered in 2003.
