This song is the first one I thought of for the prompt. It is a really catchy tune, and funny lyrics, and I like it a lot. It does have a lot of the prompt word pronouns in there, too, and the video is fun to watch.

I’ve found that Toby Keith has lots of humorous songs, along with some more serious ones. I like most all of them that I’ve heard over the years.

From the Wiki article:

“I Wanna Talk About Me” is cited as an example of country-rap, due to the use of a strong beat and rhythmically spoken lyrics.[4][5] “I Wanna Talk About Me” tells of a male’s frustration in his inability to converse with his partner, who wants to talk about herself.

***

“I Wanna Talk About Me”, by Toby Keith, was released from his album, “Pull My Chain”, in 2001. It was written by Bobby Braddock, and is on the Dreamworks label.

[Intro]
Yeah yeah
That’s right

[Verse 1]
We talk about your work, how your boss is a jerk
We talk about your church and your head when it hurts
We talk about the troubles you’ve been having with your brother
About your daddy and your mother and your crazy ex-lover
We talk about your friends and the places that you’ve been
We talk about your skin and the dimples on your chin
The polish on your toes and the run in your hose
And God knows we’re gonna talk about your clothes
You know talking about you makes me smile
But every once in awhile

[Chorus]
I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my, me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you, you, you, you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)

We talk about your dreams and we talk about your schemes
Your high school team and your moisturizer cream
We talk about your nanna up in Muncie, Indiana
We talk about your grandma down in Alabama
We talk about your guys of every shape and size
The ones that you despise and the ones you idolize
We talk about your heart, about your brains and your smarts
And your medical charts and when you start
You know talking about you makes me grin
But every now and then

[Chorus]
I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you, you, you, you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
(I wanna talk about me) (me, me, me, me)
(I wanna talk about me) (me, me, me, me)

[Bridge]
You you you you you you you you you you you you you
I wanna talk about me

I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you, you, you, you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
Oh me

1. Post a video of a song that makes you think about being a teenager.

“Where the Action Is”, by Paul Revere and the Raiders. Written by Steve Venet and Tommy Boyce, it was the theme song for the TV show of the same name, which ran from 1965 to 1967.

As a teen-ager at this time, I remember this show and watched it all the time. Later, the show went on tour with Paul Revere and the Raiders, plus a lot more singing stars of the day. They did come to our town, and I went to it … amazing and fun … it was the first concert I ever went to.

2. Post a video of a song that is about finding your voice.

***

This prompt is something I don’t understand, so … here’s a good song … maybe about finding your ‘voice’ as a writer.

“Paperback Writer” by the Beatles, credited to Lennon/McCartney, was released in 1966.

3. Post a video of a song that represents a “I’ll kick your ass attitude”.

***

“How Do You Like Me Now”, by Toby Keith, was co-written by him, and released in 1999.

This song is kind of funny, because the guy finally made it as a singing star, and he goes back to show the girl that snubbed him back in high school, what she missed out on.
