Happy New Year!

This is the last of the Time December Squares. It’s been a really fun month finding all photos and songs.

My final watch is another bracelet/bangle one with turquoise colored stones.

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing them all. Next up will be in March. Not sure what the square topic will be, but I’m sure Becky will have something fabulous for us to find and put into squares. Thanks so much for the fun challenge!

This song seemed appropriate for the final posting of Time – Square in December. It is time to close up the squares, and also this year. A new beginning starts tomorrow with the New Year. I wish you all much happiness and peace.

This is my husband’s retirement clock. He retired 2 years ago, on Halloween. He did set this clock to count down the days and minutes. It was fun to watch the numbers get lower with each passing day, until it finally read zeroes all across the screen.

This clock is in the regular grocery store where we shop. I kept looking around hoping there would be a clock somewhere in there, and finally noticed this one in the customer service area of the store.

***

“The Syncopated Clock,” was written by Leroy Anderson in 1945, and then recorded for the Decca Records label in 1950. It is a feature of the Boston Pops Symphony, with Arthur Fiedler and his Orchestra.

I read that all the clocks in the video, except two, are scenes from New York City.

I remember hearing this song/music on the radio a lot, many years ago. It was first an instrumental, and then Mitchell Parish wrote lyrics to it.

A teeny tiny alarm clock that is on a charm bracelet I made one time. I like making up some inexpensive jewelry pieces. This was just a simple chain, and I bought a few little charms to attach with jump rings.

As usual, the lighting in here is terrible, so even with trying to brighten this photo up, it still looks brownish. The bracelet is actually all a pretty silver color.

Another regular watch of mine I like, because it is black & gold.

Also, one of my favorite books, “The Time Machine”, by H. G. Wells. I loved the book and the original movie, and it’s part of why I named my blog ‘teleportingweena’. This copy of the book is pretty old and yellowed, because I got it at a book sale a long time ago. It used to be a library book. The check-out card says it was first checked out in 1986, and the last time was 1996.
