If you’d like to post something for Feline Friday, just click the above link for details. It’s fun and easy! Thanks, Sandee! ❤

I found these neat looking tigers salt & pepper shakers when we went to an antique store last week. Of course I couldn’t leave them there, so bought them to add to my S & P collection.
Photos show different views of them – orange tigers with black stripes. One is standing up, the other laying down.
They don’t have any identifying marks on the underside. I don’t know how old they are, but being in an antique shop, maybe kind of old.

Just Jot It January & Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Art
The Friday Reminder for #SoCS & #JusJoJan 2019 Daily Prompt – Jan. 12th
***
Our challenge hostess, Linda G. Hill, says…
Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “art.” Talk about something that’s hanging on your wall. Add a picture, if you’d like. If you have no art on your walls, talk about something in a museum. Have fun!
Thanks, Linda!

This SOCS prompt should be fun. I’m looking forward to see what everyone else posts today. The link above will take you to the main page, where you can join in, and also find other entries.

I’ve got quite a few things hanging on the walls around here, but not as much as I used to have.
Years ago we planned on painting the walls, so I took everything down…and the walls never did get painted, so I’ve occasionally hung some more stuff up. Here’s just a few.
I got this painting at a yard sale. I like it because it’s the little Dia de Los Muertos skeletons dancing. I really love anything to do with the Mexican celebration of Day of the Dead, and little skeletons doing ordinary things are to honor those who have passed on.
In the bottom left corner is a small greeting card. My aunt gave me this for Halloween one year, when I was just a little kid. I’ve kept it all these years because if you know me, I love ghosts and Halloween.
In the bottom right corner is a blank card I found somewhere. It is a tiger and a kitten. A tiger is my spirit animal, and of course I love all kittens & cats.
So, yeah, you could say this all means a lot to me.

This needlepoint of a Siamese cat, I found a yard sale, too. Of course a cat…and it reminds me of our outside cat, Big Man, blue eyes and all.

This tiger painting I’ve had a long time. My mother painted it for me. She did oil paintings all the time, and there were so many different subjects she painted. I still have a lot of them, but others were sold. This one is special.

Here’s a couple of paintings I’ve done to showcase my blogging…teleportingweena & Ghost. They were done in acrylic, and aren’t framed or anything, but the orange one is hanging on the wall, and the blue ones is propped up beneath it. I see them every day. The orange one is made to look like my other blog on blogger. That’s the way the background theme looks. The Ghost one has some shimmery shiny kind of paint, so that in different lights, the word appears and disappears. Pretty cool!

There are other paintings I’ve done here on the walls, and my collection of crosses are covering the wall above my computer desk. Nothing at all is fancy or expensive, but I like them all.

I’ve been meaning to do these Ragtag Daily Prompts, so for my first one today, the word is ‘cat’, and well, I love cats of all kinds.

This is a picture I painted a long time ago.
I’ve always known the tiger is my spirit animal.
This is a poem I wrote about it years ago.
~
Tiger
In misty dreams you came to me
When I was only two or three
A forest dark, and deep, and green
I wondered what my dreams could mean
You were my friend, my Spirit kin
A guardian without, a guardian within
I was born into your year
Tiger Spirit always near
Magnificent eyes, shining bright
I weep at what now’s your plight
Endangered in this cruel world
Victim of the weapons hurled
If only we could be at peace
Return to dreams without surcease
To that mystery forest in the night
We could try to again make it right
I know that you will always be
In my dreams
A part of me

Hi, again! Today is the 5th day of writing poems for the Daily Post, Writing 201: Poetry course. Suggested to try, was the Concrete Poem, the enjambment, and an animal …
Well, I couldn’t figure out how to do the Concrete shape (a poem written so that it forms a shape of something), so just went with the poem form of enjambment, which means to continue a sentence or thought onto the next line, and the animal part was easy.
However, here is a picture of a Tiger, that I painted a long time ago! 🙂

TIGER
In misty dreams you
Came to me
When I was only two or three.
A forest dark, and deep, and
Green, I wondered what my dreams
Could mean. You were my friend, my
Spirit kin…a guardian without, within…
I was born into your year, your Tiger Spirit
Always near. Magnificent eyes, shining bright, I
Weep at what now is your plight; endangered in this
Cruel world…victim of the weapons hurled. If only we could
Be at peace…return to dreams without surcease, to that mystery
Forest, in the night, we could try to make it right. I know that you will
Always be, in my dreams…a part of me … Tiger…my Spirit Animal …<3
