These are some doors from our local Ranching Heritage Center.

The RHC is a museum, with an interactive walk through. They moved actual houses and barns from long ago over here on the property. The places are furnished with items from the time period. People can walk around, seeing and reading about each house, where it had been located in the surrounding areas of west Texas, and of course take pictures. Some days they have special programs, like at Christmas, where all the houses are decorated, and there are people dressed as they would have been back then.

It’s fun to go see it all, but I’ve only been in the summer time, and it is so hot you think you’ll melt. Then you get to thinking about the olden days, when people didn’t have air conditioners in these old houses, and how they endured.

a white wooden door on the inside of a house, and also showing a look through at some wooden chairs. on the side is a table with a kerosene lamp and a broom.

Here are a couple of other doors I saw around town:

A side entrance door to a church. It is white, with a square window. The building is white board siding, and has a taller peaked roof of white, too.

This one is just a door inside a restaurant. It’s blue, with a round window, and is a swinging door that opens to the kitchen, I think.

Here are a couple of doors I saw while out and about recently.

First, a many paned double door on the front of a house. The frame is black, and there are white full length curtains. At least I think they are curtains. The side of the house is red brick, and there is a brown/gray half barrel planter by the steps.

This is a door to the thrift store we went to. It is made of a red metal frame, with mesh wiring. It has hinges, so it will swing shut across the doorway opening.

Thursday Doors – A Pink Mystery

Thursday Doors – A Pink Mystery

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a somewhat interesting door to post for Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge, but I finally have this one.

It was a side door to a thrift/junk store we went to a couple of weeks ago.

It’s pink! It has a lock, no door knob, and is nestled in between red brick walls. Why is there no door knob?

What I found interesting was what was sitting in front of the door.

See those two little items there? They are pecans. Why? Why were two pecans just placed right there? There are no trees of any kind on this business sidewalk, so where did the pecans come from? It’s a mystery, but a fun find. 🙂

I finally remembered to take photos of doors for this challenge. This is where we post photos of all kinds of doors, and this is the first one I’ve participated in. Hopefully, I’ll find more for next Thursday. 🙂

These photos were at a deli, and an ice cream shop in a shopping center.
