This spider was on the edge of the mirror frame. Guess he liked seeing his reflection in the mirror.

Drain

I don’t really know Morse Code, but I tried tapping some sort of rhythm anyway. You know, just in case.

Sometimes I see a skinny little leg, other times an eye peeking out of the drain.

I talk to him several times a day … he says nothing.

He’s a big feller, for what he is. But he’s shy.

I don’t know how old he is, but can’t be very old. His kind don’t live long lives.

I figure he’s lucky to be living in the drain here, instead of someone else’s drain.

Someday soon I will lure him all the way out. I will catch him for re-location.

Flower of the Day – Halloween Left Over

***

Here’s a flower arrangement that was for Halloween that I never got posted.

It has multiple flowers of pink, green, yellow, and purple, and a big fake spider on top.

Color Your World – Bittersweet

Color your World: Bittersweet

***

Today for Color Your World we have things that look like the Crayola Crayon called Bittersweet.

  • Crayola Crayon – Bittersweet
  • Orange flowers that look a bit bittersweet
  • Bittersweet Color info – hue family of orange, first introduced in 1949
  • My drawing of a rectangle with triangles on top, colored bittersweet & the word written in the middle
  • My cat Cricket peeking out of a quilt that has bittersweet elements
  • My art mosaic of three horses, one is bittersweet
  • A Lion Fish in a bittersweet color pottery bowl (seen at the Kansas City MO aquarium)
  • A spider in a cup – the cup was red plastic outside/white inside, but the lighting makes it look bittersweet

WARNING – SPIDER PHOTO AHEAD!

I think this spider liked looking at himself in the mirror! He stayed around for days, but I haven’t seen him lately.

Update…after a few days I saw him again, and managed to catch him. I released him out into the garage, so he could find a friend. 🙂

Here’s a little something I came up with for the cute little spider…

A spider named Spike

Seemed to like

His reflection, it’s plain to see…

Primping for a date

With a sweet little mate

He hopes they’ll be meant to be.

Don’t Read if You’re Squeamish

Don’t Read if You’re Squeamish

***

Time: middle of the night, about 2:30 a.m

Scene: my bathroom

Prop: insulated plastic cup with ice and straw

~

I get up to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water. I keep the insulated cup on the counter.

Anyway, I’m still half asleep, and take a big drink of ice water through the straw.

I feel a lump of something in my mouth, and it’s not a piece of ice. I don’t swallow the water.

I spit into the sink.

Out comes a…

Spider!

Yes, I had a spider in my mouth!

It wasn’t a giant one, but about the size of my pinkie fingernail.

I go Ewwww!

I get a tissue and get the spider onto it, putting the spider & tissue on the counter.

Then I go get fresh water to rinse my mouth out with.

I didn’t want to drown the spider down the drain, you know…I like spiders…just not in my mouth!

I go back to bed.

This morning I look for the spider, and find him still on the counter.

I take his picture, then try to catch him to put outside, but he’s too fast.

He’s still in there …

Somewhere…

Here’s his picture which is very much enlarged.

I wonder which one of us was more surprised? haha 🙂

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Back of Things

***

Thanks, Cee!

For the photo challenge this week, we are to feature things from the back.

To join in, just click the above link for details. Also see other entries.

***

So far this one is a bit difficult for me. I’ve looked through my photos on my phone, on my computer, and in my photo albums. It seems I almost  never take photos from the back. Hmm…

I’ll have to think on this a little bit, and maybe take a new photo of something. The thing is, what around here would be at least a little bit interesting? I’ll be back…

***

Maybe not as interesting as travel photos, or beautiful places, or people, but this is what I came up with. 🙂

  • Back of a card of earrings
  • Back of a fan
  • Back of a spider
