Here are some common road signs and what they really mean. I suppose we are to think up something funny as another meaning for them.

3. Roadworks/ Men at work .. or Grave Diggers Have Right Of Way

4.  Road narrows (both sides) … or Throw Empty Bottles Here

5. No footpath ,,, or Stop Driving/Save Gas/Take a Walk Instead

6. Headphones in use, might not hear approaching traffic (not sure if this is legit actually) … or Rest Stop Dancing Area Ahead

7. Humps in road … or UFO Landing Site

8. No explosives … Watch For Tumbleweeds Next 10 Miles (they get stuck to your car) (yes this happened to me more than once!)

9. Gradient … or 20 Percent Of Cars Won’t Make It Up This Hill – Don’t Be That 20 Percent

No theme this week, so a bit of a nonsense lucky dip………..

1. Lucky dip is self explanatory when it comes to gifts, but how did it originate? …

This got started when someone dipped a chip into some dip and it came out clean with nobody’s crumbs left in there.

2. Why is seven considered a lucky number? …

Sometimes it’s lucky and sometimes not. I’d say more unlucky. Well there are 7 days in a week, okay. Then there’s 7 years bad luck if you break a mirror. It’s all in how you look at # 7.

3. Why is thirteen considered unlucky?

It’s an odd number and has no counterpart match. You don’t want to be the 13th anything.

4. Why do they say elephants never forget?

Probably I think the bigger the head the bigger the brain and the bigger/better memory.

5. How did slippers get so called?

It was the first word they called those little burgers, but no one liked it, so they changed it to sliders.

6. What are the doldrums?

Doldrums are just some bottle of really old rum – probably turned poison by now.

7. Do igloos have central heating?

They weren’t able to get central heating where they lived. They didn’t live in the Central Time Zone.

8. What was a jamboree bag?

A cute word for a scary thing that is needed. It’s really a ‘bug out’ bag for getting out of Dodge when disaster strikes.

9. What were blackjacks?

They were just dark colored donkeys and burros.

10. Little Boy Blue blew what exactly?

Little Boy Blue blew blue bubblegum bubbles.
