Weather forecast for tonight: dark. - George Carlin

***

I like this because it’s so obvious it’s funny.

George Carlin always was a favorite of mine, because he had a unique way of seeing things and making a statement about it.

Of course I like anything to do with the weather, too. It reminds me of this one local weather guy, who was always saying something funny. You know how in the weather forecasts they say it will be partly sunny, or partly cloudy…well, this guy had a one liner that struck me funny, too. He said about the night time:

“It will be partly moony tonight.” 🙂

3 Day Quote Challenge – # 1

https://biffsockpow.wordpress.com/2018/04/24/day-2-of-the-3-day-quote-challenge/

***

I was recently  tagged to do the 3 Day Quote Challenge by Biff. His wonderfully entertaining blog, “Biff Sock Pow”, can be found at the above link. Thanks so much for thinking of me for this challenge, Biff! 🙂

***

Here are the things we’re supposed to do:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you.
  2. Write one quote each day for three consecutive days (3 quotes total)
  3. Explain why the quote is meaningful for you.
  4. Nominate three bloggers each day to participate in the challenge

This is a great quote. I like it because I feel we should always notice what’s around us, even the small things. Look up into the sky for brilliant blues, stormy grays, clouds of all kinds, and rainbows. Look down at your feet for lush green grass, sandy beaches, and tiny insects. There is beauty in all of nature, and we should take a moment to appreciate it all.

Leaving this challenge open to those who want to participate.

Welcome to the 2018 edition of the A to Z Blogging Challenge!

All through the month of April, the challenge asks us to blog every day (except Sundays), and to go through the alphabet A to Z, connecting our posts to the letter of each day.

My idea for this time, my 5th to participate, is to showcase a book or two each day, and provide a tiny bit of information about them. These will not be a full book review, but just saying what it is about, and if I liked the book or not.

These books are mostly books that I already have on my shelves, and have read, or are on my to be read stacks. There will be a very few of them that I don’t already own, or have read.

I will also post a quote each day that has something to say about books, or reading.

Hope you enjoy, and maybe see a book or a few that you might want to read, too.

“Dr. Mary’s Monkey”, by Edward T Haslam, is such an interesting book. It delves deeper into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This book is just one of many that tries to make sense of that horrible, historic day. The author has some great points to make, as he researched very carefully the events that led up to this day. This book explores how a secret lab, monkey viruses, government cover-ups, and more, are tied in to the assassination of JFK.

“Dishwasher”, by Pete Jordan, is a fun book to read. The author has a goal of traveling the U.S. to wash dishes in as many restaurants as he can. He tells of his adventures, and misadventures, and gives a behind the scenes look at what goes on in the restaurants we eat at, and have no idea of.

I saw this quote framed and hanging on the wall at a dentist’s office.

Looking up the quote I found it comes from the bible – 1 Corinthians 13:13.

“There are three things that last…

Faith, Hope & Love.

The greatest of these is Love.”
