Sunshine Blogger Award

I would like to thank Paula Bianchi, of “This Weird Chick’s Blog”, for nominating me for the “Sunshine Blogger Award”.

Paula has a wonderful and interesting blog, where she delves into all kinds of subjects that really makes you think about the mysteries of what we encounter here on earth … and beyond.

Pay her a visit at the above link – you won’t be disappointed. 🙂

The Sunshine Blogger Award Rules Are:

  1. Thank the Blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  2. List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.
  3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  4. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their blog posts.
  5. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

  1. What inspired you to write your blog? I don’t know how I even learned there were blogs before I started mine. I just knew I wanted a place to write about my true ghost stories, and also to post my fan fiction story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire”, and hope someone, somewhere would enjoy reading them.
  2. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? I would say I’m an introvert in most situations, except with my family.
  3. Do you have any siblings? I have one younger sister.
  4. Which is better, the book or the movie about the book? I almost always like reading the book, and then sometimes I enjoy the movie about it.
  5. Would you rather receive the gift of someone’s time or a material gift? I’d rather have the gift of someone’s time.
  6. What’s your favorite flower? My favorite flower is the Chrysanthemum. I even had these as my wedding bouquet.
  7. Do you have any hobbies? Writing, reading, art, jigsaw puzzles, and of course blogging.
  8. Where do you like to take a date or your spouse? We don’t go anywhere except out to a restaurant sometimes.
  9. What was your favorite subject in school? English, because we got to write themes and such.
  10. Do you exercise? I excercise my fingers when I’m typing or writing with a pen or marker. I excercise my brain by reading and playing games.
  11. What’s your guilty pleasure? I don’t have any guilty pleasures, because if I enjoy doing whatever it is, I’m not going to feel guilty about it.

I almost never name anyone for nominations, so if you’d like to answer the same questions, go ahead and claim the award. 🙂

Thanks again, Paula, for the nomination. It was fun answering the questions! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

These are this week’s SYW questions from Melanie. To join in, just click the above link for instructions. Thanks, Melanie! 🙂

The questions:

f you had to sum up the whole human species in 3 words, what would those words be?

Where is the strangest place you’ve relieved yourself?  Obviously in an emergency situation.

What is the worst smelling place you’ve ever been?

How drunk is drunk enough?

My answers:

  1. We will survive
  2. On the street by the courthouse – during the F-5 Tornado … I was already soaked from the rain. Or… in the grassy median between four lanes of cars whizzing (hah) by. Our car broke down and well, when you gotta go you gotta go. Or … at the grand opening of the first Wal-mart in our town – in the dressing room – in the trash can (well it was pouring down rain that day, so I could say the roof leaked – haha)
  3. In the vicinity of the litter box (at times)
  4. Any drunk is too drunk – not a fan of drunk

Thanks, Melanie! 🙂

What makes you laugh?

Things that make me laugh are: my family, silly things I hear people say, misprint bloopers, odd headlines, cat antics

What’s the world coming to?  (Credit to Mel of Crushed Caramel…)

I don’t know, but it will keep on turning

In one sentence sum up the Internet.

The internet is a place to learn new things, make new acquaintances, and have fun with.

If over time you replace parts on a car, at what point does it stop being the same car you bought? How many parts do you need to replace to make it a new car?

At some point you need to stop replacing parts, and just get a whole new car.

Gratitude is an attitude.   Yea or nay?   Explain your viewpoint please!

I think gratitude is an attitude, so my answer is yes. Some people most always look on the bright side no matter what happens, and others are just not happy with anything …and they enjoy being downers trying to bring everyone else down with them.

Sunshine Blogger Award/Gift

Sunshine Blogger Award/Gift

Sunshine Blogger Award

I was gifted (nominated) with the Sunshine Blogger Award, by Rory! You can find his most interesting blog, “A Guy Called Bloke”, at the above link.

Thanks so much, Rory!

Here are the particulars of this award …

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award for bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring – people who spread “sunshine” to the blogging world!

Award Guidance

Thank whoever gifted you and include a link to their blog

Use the “Sunshine Blogger Award” logo on your post and display the Guidance.

Answer the questions from the person who gifted you the Award.

Choose 3 bloggers that you wish to gift the Award to.

Ask 5 questions of your choice.

Notify those you gift the Award to.

Here’s the questions Rory has asked:

If you could do something a bit naughty every day and not get caught, what would you do?

Well, I’m not usually a person who does naughty things, so let me think on this a bit. Okay, maybe go into an office supply store and pop all the bubble wrap.

Do you have any unusual party tricks?

Another hard question, because I don’t go to parties, and barely ever did in the past. I do nothing special that I know of.  … OR … blend into the woodwork so no one sees me. That way I don’t have to talk to anyone, and can just listen to them, gathering all kinds of information. heh heh I am a Ghost in the wall.

Can you name 5 things you can do with hot wax that you shouldn’t but the naughty wicked you would love to do!

I don’t do naughty things, with wax or any other thing. I light a candle now and again, but try not to get the wax on anything. There are a lot of art projects you can do with wax, but they aren’t naughty.

What is the theory of what is not the theory of what is?

My theory is this question has no meaning.

Can you guess the answer to my 11th question yet?

I’m a bit of a mind reader, but I have no idea what the 11th question is, since this challenge only goes up to 5 questions.

I do not nominate any specific bloggers on any awards I’m presented with. I believe every blogger works hard to bring such informative and entertaining posts for us to read, that everyone deserves to be awarded. Whether by accepting blogging awards, visiting other’s blogs, commenting, and liking, and making blogging friends, you are all special! Feel free to accept this award/gift if you want to!

Here are 5 questions I made up, if you want to answer them. 🙂

  1. Do you think antiques are haunted?
  2. What is your favorite number, and why?
  3. Do you have a lucky talisman or mantra – what is it?
  4. Do you think this life is actually a dream you’re having, and everyone you meet and everything you encounter are just characters/situations you’ve made up?
  5. Are you superstitious about anything?

Sunshine Blogger Award Nominations # 12 and 13

I was recently nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Sadje, of Keep It Alive! Thanks so much, Sadje!

You can find her wonderful blog at the above link. 🙂

1. Use the sunshine blogger award logo

2. Give thanks to the blogger that nominated you

3. Answer the 11 questions given to you

4. Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 questions

1.Who is your hero/ role model?

I don’t think I have a hero or role model.

2. If today was the first time that you have seen a rainbow, describe your emotions.

Oh my God! It’s so beautiful and must be a sign from Heaven!

3. What is the most commonly used object in your home?

The stove, because we cook something every day.

4. What is one thing that you cannot leave your house without?

My shoes & clothes on.

5. What sort of music you like to listen to?

I like all kinds of music, but favor any type of rock music, especially the older songs.

6. If you had a chance to start a new blog where all your followers were guaranteed to follow you, will you do it?

Sure. I’d keep this one, of course, and start a new one or more, with only certain subjects. I could have one with just music, one with just short stories, one for poetry, etc.

7. What is more important in life: having health or money?

Health, especially as we get older we realize how important this is.

8. Would you stop your car for a lone hitch hacker?

I would not stop. There would be too big a chance of something bad happening.

9. If egg yolk was black instead of yellow, would you still eat it?

I love eggs of all kinds, so if we grew up eating black yolk eggs, then it would be normal, and I’d eat them. If all of a sudden all eggs had black yolks, it would be disturbing, but I’d get used to it if they tasted the same.

10. What is in your pocket?

Today I’m not wearing anything with pockets. If I do, there is usually nothing in them. I do put my phone in a pocket once in awhile, if I need my hands to carry something else.

11. Which planet in our solar system is most likely to support life, other than Earth?

Maybe Mars?

So many people have already been nominated for this award already, that I’ll leave the challenge open to anyone who’d like to answer the same questions, and grab the award logo! 🙂

Wanna Know You Better – tag

Wanna Know You Better – tag download (5)

I was recently tagged by Paula, of Lightmotifs, to take part in this fun. Thanks so much, Paula!

You can find Paula’s wonderful blog at the above link. 🙂

Riya Gupta of World of my thoughts says:

Hello friends, nice to meet you all again. All the bloggers at WordPress are friends. Right? No doubt. So, being friends we should know each other. So, here’s a game for all my friends so that we all can know each other better.

Here’s a list of questions given below. You need to frame a blog post and answer those questions. Invite any of your five favorite fun loving bloggers and spread the game. Let’s know each other better.

1. Title the blog post as “Wanna know you better!!” (try to make your post pictorial as this will make it look interesting)

2. Mention Riya’s blog and the one who nominated you.

3. Copy all the questions and answer them one by one.

4. You may create your own questions for your targets (it will be fun).

5. Pass the game as a challenge to any of your favorite bloggers and mention them in your post.

I don’t have much stress, but blogging or reading books is a good way to forget what’s bugging you for a little while.

Here are the new weekly questions for SYW! Thanks, Melanie! 🙂

(the last two are courtesy of Teresa of The Haunted Wordsmith)
  1. Is it wrong to sell store-bought pastries at a bake sale?
  2. Have you ever interacted with the police?
  3. What will you remember most about this past year (this question will show up again, in late December, just FYI)
  4. Is it better to have fungus on your toes, your tongue, or your pizza?
  5. What is one slang word that makes your skin crawl?

Is it wrong to sell store-bought pastries at a bake sale?

I don’t think it’s wrong. A bake sale is to raise money for some worthy cause, and people will donate a few dollars and take home something sweet to eat. It doesn’t matter if it came from a store, or is home made.

Have you ever interacted with the police?

Yes, we have a good friend who was a policeman (he’s retired now). We’ve known him since elementary school.

What will you remember most about this past year (this question will show up again, in late December, just FYI)

Probably that the year has passed by so fast.

Is it better to have fungus on your toes, your tongue, or your pizza?

I always want fungus on my pizza! 🙂

What is one slang word that makes your skin crawl?

I can’t stand to hear or see written/typed the word “Woot”. Ugh, it sounds and looks awful. Just say Yay, or Woo Hoo or something. There are a ton of adjectives to describe being happy and excited over something.

Combining this older group of questions I never got posted, with this week’s set of questions from Melanie!

Follow the links to see more.

  • Are you a Summer person?   A Winter person?   Or one of the other seasons suits you best?

I like the autumn or fall season best, because it’s not quite so hot, and the trees are changing colors, and Halloween is coming!

  • What is your favorite summer time clothing?

I wear the same things all year round… Long sleeved tops of either sweater material or cotton, and stretchy black pants. For shoes – always flip flops, unless it snows, then I have crocs.

  • Do you find yourself eating out more during the summer?  Or making ‘cold food’ like salads and stuff you can heat in the microwave?

Pretty much we eat the same things all year, going to restaurants or cooking at home. Sometimes if the weather turns cold, we’ll make a stew.

  • Do you like watermelon?   What’s your favorite summertime treat?

I like watermelon, but never think to get any. It’s been over a year since I even thought about it. Summertime treat? I don’t get to have treats very often. (diabetic), so I eat some fruits every day, but it’s not a treat.

What happens if you-stare at the mirror for too long in the dark?   (credit to Ursula of An Upturned Soul.  If you haven’t read Ursula’s blog, go over and just wade in and enjoy.   To me she’s fascinating and what she writes about is always worth the journey).

If you stare in the mirror for a long time in the dark, you call in the spirit of Bloody Mary!

Do you think you’re judgmental?  What tends to bring it out in you?  (Credit to Ashleyleia for this one)

No, I’m not usually judgmental. I’m the peace keeper, and try to see both sides of everything.

Do you work better with actual lists or with mental lists?  (Credit to Sadje of Keep it Alive)

I have to write down everything or I won’t usually remember it. I make lists and post-it notes all the time.

Would you go streaking across a football field during a game for a million dollars (insert your own country’s currency), knowing there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll get arrested for indecent exposure? (this one is mine.  Yeah, my mind wanders to some highly strange places sometimes).

Sure, why not? Except I wouldn’t be ‘streaking’ very fast, as I can’t run, and can only stumble step along.  If I did this people would only take one glance, then cover their eyes at the horror. Then when the authorities arrived, they’d be laughing so hard, I wouldn’t get in trouble, because I gave them something to laugh about. Now, where’s my million dollars?

What has happened in your life that made you feel uplifted and happy, if only temporarily?

I’m glad our air conditioner is working. It’s been hot out there.
