Here are the questions!

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

What is your favourite book?

What do you dislike the most?

What is your favourite food at the mall?

What is your favourite pastime?

***

Here are my answers:

  1. I started blogging for the first time in September, 2013, over on Blogger. I wanted a place to write things in the hopes that someone, somewhere would like to read what I posted. It took awhile to figure out how to do this blogging thing, and eventually I posted some essays and short fiction stories. Then, I decided to share my true ghost stories, of which there were quite a few. Next, I really wanted to post my fan fiction story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire”, and so I did. To me, this is the ultimate, and best fiction writing I’ve ever done, if I do say so, myself. However, I got almost nobody looking at my blog. It was recommended to me by one of those that did see my blog, that I go over to Word Press. That was the best advice! I did start on WP, then couldn’t figure it out, so stopped for awhile, still posting on the other site, still getting no views. Finally, I got back to WP, and I’ve really had so much fun, so many wonderful bloggers to visit my blog, leaving likes and comments, and encouragement, it’s  amazing. Thank you so much!

2. My favorite book/books are these. The first is, “Lost Souls”, by Poppy Z. Brite. This is the book I write my fan fiction story about. The other is, “The Survival of Jan Little”, by John Man. I read both of these books at least once a year, and have for many years.

3. What do I dislike?

  • fish
  • war
  • violence
  • politics
  • housework
  • prejudice
  • liars

4. My favorite food at the mall? I don’t eat at the mall. I might have a hot chocolate from Starbuck’s while at the book store, Barnes & Noble, but that’s it. We don’t go to the mall very often, and the food places at ours is a joke…nothing I’d even think of putting in my mouth!

5.  My favorite pastime would be writing, reading, coloring, painting, scrap booking, and jig saw puzzles

Thanks again, Georgie, for nominating me for the award. It’s been fun answering the questions. 🙂

If you could choose any person from history to be your imaginary friend, who would it be and why?

Galileo, because he and his ideas fascinate me. His contributions to the field of astronomy gets my attention because of how much I love looking at the stars, moon, and planets through my own telescope. It has been said he is the ‘father of observational astronomy’.

***

“Galileo”, by the Indigo Girls, was released in 1992 from their album, “Rites of Passage”. It was written by Emily Saliers, and is on the Epic label.

60s, 70s, 80s, 90s: Which decade do you love the most and why?

I liked the middle 60s and all the 70s. I was a teen in the 60s, and was still having fun at school, then graduating, getting married, having kids, traveling to places near and far.

When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?

Being nice & friendly to all…people and animals, and promoting peace. And…for my writing of all kinds of things like essays, poetry, fiction pieces, diaries, and this blog! 😉

Guilty Reader Book Tag

Guilty Reader Tag

***

So, I saw these book tag questions over at Orangeowldiaries, and they sounded fun. Thanks, Tabby!

***

1. Have you ever re-gifted a book that you’ve been gifted?

I haven’t passed on a gift book as a new original gift, but I do lend or give books that I’ve read, to others.

2. Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?

Probably, by mistake. I might have forgotten that I didn’t read it, especially if it is similar to others I’ve read.

3. Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

Yes, if they say they don’t want it back. Also, I’ve borrowed books from the library, then lost it, so it didn’t get returned (I paid for the book, though).

4. Have you ever read a series out of order?

Yes, by mistake, or that I just couldn’t find the first one. Lots of times the next book in a series will mention what happened in a previous book, so you can tell what happens first.

5. Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

I hope not, but sometimes they want you to tell them all about it, before they read it.

6. Have you ever doggy eared a book?

Yes, I used to do this all the time with my own books (not other peoples or library books). I now use a book mark. I don’t write in books, either.

7. Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

I don’t think so, at least not intentionally. It’s the other way around…I might say I do have a book, when I forgot that I don’t have it any more, or I can’t find it.

8. Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

Yes, I do that quite often. When there are so many long descriptions of mundane things, or repeating parts, or it’s just boring. Just get to the conversations! That’s the best part for me in fiction, anyway. I once had a librarian lady, who knew I read a lot, say I read like she does…skip the boring parts.

9. Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?

No, why would I do that? If I like a book, I talk about how good it was.

***

Well, that was fun! Thanks again, Tabby for bringing this book tag to my attention!

Anyone else want to answer these questions? Go ahead…I’d love to read your answers! 🙂

  • What makes you feel special?
  • Do you use pen and paper to write, before writing on laptop?
  • Which is your favorite memory from childhood?
  • Tell me about that place where you feel solitude.

***

My answers:

  • I usually feel refreshed after being out and about all day, by getting a hot and creamy cup of coffee, then sitting here at the computer catching up with what’s been going on.
  • I feel special when my grand-kids say to me, “I love you.”
  • I write some things just freestyle stream of consciousness on my PC keyboard, well, most of the time. Other times I use pen and notebook, for poems, and fiction stories
  • There’s too many favorite childhood memories to list them all. But, here’s a couple… riding my bike all over our neighborhood with the other kids, and also when my parents would surprise us with a trip to the drive-in movies in the evening time.
  • A place of solitude would be here at home, where I can do what I want, when I want, or do nothing at all, and wear pajamas all day if I want to.

I nominate everyone who would like to participate.

A piece of clothing from your younger childhood you still remember?

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do?   Remember this is SYW, dreaming is always allowed.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

***

  1. I remember some of the clothes I had back then. One was a dress I hated (it had an attached little tie in front, like a necktie) I yanked on it until it ripped so bad I couldn’t wear it again. Another one I remember was a black & white fake furry coat. My sister had the same one. It made us look like big ‘ol bears or something. One day we were at a store, both of us wearing the coats, when a little kid hollered at us, “They’s twins!” It was just so funny. 🙂
  2. I don’t like anything about sports, not playing them or watching them. But…if shuffleboard could be considered a sport, I’d do that.
  3. I’d rather ride shot-gun as a passenger instead of driving. I honestly can’t remember the last time I drove our pick-up anywhere, it’s been so long. The mister is always driving us places. And besides, I have to be able to take photos of stuff out the window. I’m always on the look-out for something to fit Cee’s Challenges. 🙂

Time for a new set of questions from Cee, and answers from me! Join in this weekly fun…click the above link to find out how.

***

The questions:

If you were to pack a basket for picnic lunch, what would be in your basket?

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?

***

My answers:

Sheesh! I haven’t been on a picnic since I was a kid, I don’t think. I’m not a fan of being outdoors much, especially in this heat we have, with the sand blowing. Never mind the bugs, and piles of goose poop. Oh, don’t want to get sunburned either.

Anyway enough of the negatives…if I were to go on a picnic, in the ideal location, and temperatures…what would I pack in a basket?

Iced down soft drinks and lemonade.

Sandwiches? Pimento Cheese or ham & cheese? Chips? Pork ‘n beans?

Plastic eating utensils, plates, cups, and tablecloth? Lots of sanitizing wipes!

***

On a vacation I’d require pillows, lots of them, and blankets. I can’t sleep without a bunch of each.

A nice place to stay – nothing like roughing it or camping for me.

Snack foods, and bottled water.

Air conditioner, bathroom…

***

If we were to move, it would be a house, not an apartment. Full maintenance service for indoors & out, such as cleaning, cooking, and yard work. An enclosed courtyard with lots of plants, and where all kinds of little animals can run around in, with no danger. Designated rooms for different things, like crafts & hobbies, and a library.

It’s time for a new set of questions from Cee, and answers from me! Click the above link to find out how you, too, can join in the fun. 🙂

***

What household chore do you absolutely enjoy doing? (can be indoor or outdoor)

Create a sentence with the words “neon green” and train”.

Other than your cell phone what can you always be found with?

***

  • I don’t absolutely enjoy doing any household chores! Since I have to pick something for this question, I’d say I don’t mind washing dishes. I wash them by hand all the time (our dishwasher quit working years ago, and I don’t miss using it)
  • Okay, let’s see… Laurel went by train to meet her good friend Yanny, who said she’d be wearing neon green deeley-boppers on her head, and a dress that might be black & blue, or maybe it would be white and gold. 🙂
  • Well, if I go somewhere I always have my purse/handbag with me. That does include having my cell phone, too, along with a bunch of other stuff. I’d also say I can pretty much always be found with my clothes on. I wear them indoors and outdoors. 🙂
