Ooh, you make me live

Whatever this world can give to me
It’s you, you’re all I see
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
Oh, you’re the best friend
That I ever had
I’ve been with you such a long time
You’re my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
(Ooh) Oh, you’re my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
Ooh, I’ve been wandering round
But I still come back to you
(still come back to you)
In rain or shine
You’ve stood by me girl
I’m happy at home (happy at home)
You’re my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you, to help me forgive – oo oo ooh
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
Oh, you’re the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I’ll never be lonely
You’re my only one
And I love the thing
I really love the things that you do
Oh, you’re my best friend
Oh, ooh, you make me live
I’m happy (happy at home)
You’re my best friend
Oh, oh, you’re my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
Oo oo ooh
You, you’re my best friend

“Friendship”, by Cole Porter, was a highlight song, featured in the 1939 Broadway musical, “Du Barry Was a Lady”.ย  Music and lyrics are by Cole Porter. The musical was later made into a Technicolor film, in 1943.

This clip is from the “I Love Lucy” television show, where Lucy and Ethel are performing the song. Do you remember this episode? It seems that both ladies wore the same dress to a performance, and were very annoyed with each other, so they started ripping pieces off each other’s dresses. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lyrics to Friendship

If you’re ever in a jam, here I am.
If you’re ever in a mess, S.O.S.
If you’re so happy, you land in jail. I’m your bail.

It’s friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship.
When other friendships are soon forgot, ours will still be hot.
Da da da da da da dig dig dig.
If you’re ever down a well, ring my bell.
If you’re ever up a tree, just phone to me.
If you ever loose your teeth when you’re out to dine, borrow mine.
It’s friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship.
When other friendships are soon forgeet, ours will still be great.
Loddle doddle chuck chuck chaa.
If they ever black you’re eyes, put me wise.
If they ever cook your goose, turn me loose.
And if they ever put a bullet through your brain, Ill complain.
It’s friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship.
When other friendships are soon forgit, ours will still be it.
Ah loddle doddle hip hap hap.
If you ever loose your mind, I’ll be kind.
And if you ever loose your shirt, I’ll be hurt.
If you’re ever in a mill and get sawed in half, I won’t laugh.
It’s friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship.
When other friendships are are up the crick, ours will still be slick.
Ah loddle doddle woof woof woof, hep hep hep, chopp chop chop, dig dig dig.
Good evening friends.

A to Z BLOG CHALLENGE 2017 – REFLECTION

***

***

The Mystery Box Chickens and I would like to take a moment to reflect on the A to Z Blog Challenge 2017.

This year in April was the 4th time I’ve joined in on the challenge. ( 2nd time for the Chickens)

Instead of random A/Z posts about whatever, I did have a theme. It was to feature music videos with the titles being for the letter of the day.

I enjoyed finding the music, and keeping any commentary short and simple. I hope you enjoyed listening.

Thank you all so much for stopping by this month. I appreciated all your visits, likes, and comments! You are all champions to me! ๐Ÿ™‚

SOCS – STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS SATURDAY – REAL

SOCS – STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS SATURDAY – REAL untitled

For today’s SOCS, the word topic we are to write about is – Real.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 26/16

~

All I’ve been thinking about since seeing the topic for today – Real – is the song by Queen, “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Over and over in my head, I’ve been singing it…a persistent ear-worm! I like the song, so it’s ok. ~ …Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, No escape from reality…” ๐Ÿ™‚

So, some other thoughts about ‘real’ are these:

  1. One of my favorite quotes is by Edgar Allan Poe – “…All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

That really gets me thinking. What if it’s true? What if this real life we think we are living at the present moment, is not really real? What if it is just a dream we are having, our soul is having, as our ‘real’ self is living elsewhere…asleep? I love thinking about this stuff!

2. The word ‘realty’ as in selling houses? I can’t ever get it right. Is it – real-T, or re-la-ty? Well, I’m sure it is the first one, but always seem to pronounce it the second way.

3. So, when we type our text messages, type our thoughts on our blogs, to people, we sometimes say or feel it is not really real. I mean, the people we are communicating with, we never actually see, or even know, firsthand, in person, face to face. So, we say things, and then qualify some statements as being ‘in real life’ or IRL

4.ย When the weather guy/gal on TV talk about temperatures, either hot or cold, sometimes they mention the ‘real feel’. The actual temperature will be one thing, but it ‘feels’ like hotter or colder, according to the wind, or humidity. I don’t like the term, ‘real feel’. It sounds silly, to me. And, then that’s silly, because I do like words that rhyme. Go figure!

Well, as they say… (and who are ‘they’?) … it’s been real… and that’s it for this post today! ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy your weekend!
