Where’s Toto? – One Liner Wednesday

Where’s Toto? – One Liner Wednesday

One-Liner Wednesday – Reason #27 Why Sign Language is Our Friend

Here’s a couple of one liners I’ve said myself!  🙂

I admit, I get flustered when talking on the phone to businesses. Well, all the time talking. Anyway…here’s a couple strange things I’ve actually said before:

Do you know where Toto is?

Yeah…I’d been to the beauty salon getting my hair done, and lost my earrings. I have a pair that are of the Wizard of Oz dog, Toto. I thought maybe I’d taken them off there. At any rate I couldn’t find them.

The lady said, “What?”

I had to explain, and the conversation didn’t get much better. Turns out I found the Toto earrings in my purse, later on. 🙂

I loooovvvveee your pizza, but we don’t want it.

Umm-hmm…I’d ordered a pizza over the phone…so far so good. Then we changed our mind and I called them back real quick to cancel the order. They wanted to know why, was something wrong with it. I said no, I love your pizza, we just don’t want it…we changed our mind. 🙂

Have you ever made a mess of what you’re trying to say? It always comes out a jumble for me.

Pizza Surprise – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – SOCS – Sup

Pizza Surprise – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – SOCS – Sup

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS July 7/18

Here’s what our hostess, Linda G. Hill, has given us for our SOCS prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “sup.” Use it as a word or find a word that contains it. Have fun!

Thanks, Linda!

So, I quickly thought up some words that have ‘sup’ in them…well, these start with those letters. I’m sure there are more, but I didn’t look up any. Here’s the words I thought of to use:

  • Supper
  • supernatural
  • suppose
  • supreme
  • suppress
  • super
  • supercilious

Now, I’m going to try to make up a silly little story using the words, off the top of my head as I’m typing this.

Pizza Surprise

I decided to actually go out for my supper last night. That is, the evening meal. Pizza sounded pretty good, so I found a place not too far away. It’s a new restaurant that opened up recently, and is called Magic Pizza.

As I entered the funky establishment I was happily surprised. It looked like my kind of place, what with all the cool, hippie type decorations. So far, so good, I thought. I sat at a table, because this was actually a pretty fancy place for a pizza hangout. A waiter approached, bearing an oversized menu.

“For your perusal,” he said. (I thought he was being supercilious to the  max, and almost couldn’t suppress a giggle)

suppose he was just doing his job, though, so I smiled and said, “Super!)

I ordered the kind of pizza I wanted…a Supreme, with everything on it in the way of toppings. When it was brought to my table, it looked delicious…and it was.

Soon, I was full and feeling fine. So fine, I began singing a song, right there in front of everyone. That is so not like me, as I just can’t sing in tune, and normally would be embarrassed to break out in song with people watching me.

What’s going on? I couldn’t stop! Other customers were clapping and singing along with me. Then, the haughty waiter approached me again with the menu.

“For your perusal,” he said (again) and gave me a wink. “Read the small print,” he advised.

I could barely focus on the little words, but realization dawned on me. Magic Pizza…magic mushrooms…ohhh…

I started laughing hysterically at my not so supernatural experience at the Magic Pizza Parlor.

I believe I’ll be coming back again, soon!

It’s time for another Share Your World. Cee is on vacation, though, so we have questions by Emilio! Thanks!

Have you ever been pulled over by a cop?

Yes. I remember at least one time. I was driving over the speed limit, and got pulled over. I’d not had my driver’s license very long, and didn’t want my parents to find out about the ticket I got. I went down to the place to pay the ticket, and all was good…until, I forgot and left the receipt in my car on the front seat. My dad found it when he got in my car to do something, like put gas in it. Yes, I was caught, and had to explain it all.

What have you always wanted?  Did you get it?

I’ve wanted a lot of things over the years. Sometimes I’d get whatever it was, sometimes not. When I was a kid, I’m sure there were toys I wanted for Christmas. Now, if I want something, I can just go get it myself. I always wanted a horse, and I never got one, but I did get to go to a riding stable on Saturday mornings, which was fun.

What is your perfect pizza?

I like all kinds of pizza. We usually have a combination ingredient kind, with thin crust. My favorite, though, would be pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra cheese, light on the sauce. There was a pizza place in Killeen, TX that made the best, in my opinion. This was Checkers Pizza. I don’t know if they still are in business, but I think about their yummy pizza a lot, and have never found another that was as good.

CEE’S SHARE YOUR WORLD 2016 – WEEK 29 sywbanner

Time for this week’s Share Your World, with questions from Cee and answers from me!

Here’s how to join in the fun, and to see other’s entries:

Share Your World – 2016 Week 29

Q1 – What is the perfect pizza?

I like a thin crust pizza, with a light coating of pizza sauce. Then I like it to have pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and cheese.

I’ll eat just about any kind, with anything on it, but am not a fan of sausage, so I’ll pick that off.

Q2 – What is your favorite time of day?

Night. I like the darkness, when the moon and stars are out. I have a telescope and like to look at the planets and moon. Haven’t in awhile, and I should get it set up again.

Q3 – Show us two of your favorite photographs. They can be from any time in your life span. Explain why they are your favorite.

Too hard to choose a favorite, as there are a lot I like, such as the sunrises and sunsets, and my cats. Here are a couple, though. (you’ve maybe seen them before)

The painting of the word ‘ghost’ is special to me. It’s my aka name for everything. I painted this with acrylic on canvas, with sky blue and silver metallic paint. It shines in an ethereal way in different lights, and depending on where you stand as you’re looking at it.

The next one I just think is cool. It’s me in a mirror reflection, as I’m ghost hunting at a haunted house.

Q4 – Complete this sentence: I’m looking forward to…

I’m looking forward to my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson coming for a visit in a couple of weeks. They live in Missouri, and we were up there to visit them at the end of May. We always have a fun time when we’re together.

Cilantro is like oxygen,

Wild, and free, and fresh;

It makes the guacamole pop

In that green and creamy dish.

Spicy, earthy Cumin’s great,

And, chili powder, too;

Cooking up a Mexican feast

Especially for you.

Rice and beans are ready, now,

We can hardly wait;

Come into the kitchen,

Do grab yourself a plate.

Careful, now, enchiladas are hot

As they come out of the oven.

Corn tortillas, onions, and sauce,

That aroma we all are lovin’.

A veritable fiesta to tickle your mouth,

But, alas we never got to taste it,

We had to do without.

The dish of glass exploded,

As it was set upon the stove;

It smelled so good and cheesy,

Even as we dodged and dove.

We didn’t get to eat that meal,

Which really was a shame;

The wonderful smell of Mexican night,

In our memories will remain.

Instead, we ordered out…another meal suffices,

As we filled our paper plates that night,

With Italian pizza slices.
