Dare to Dream

***

And you must dare to do as many things as you dream of… ~ Nastassja Kinski

***

This is a dream I had this morning, November 27, 2018.

I was at a library with my daughter and grand-daughter. Not sure where what library it was…never seen it in real life, but it felt familiar.

I’d turned in some books, one of which was called ‘Dare to Dream’ or something like that. There was another name similar, but can’t remember it now. Anyway, it had pink on the cover, and was sort of like those ‘for Dummies’ books, or along those same type of books. Maybe it was ‘Dare to Dream for Dummies’? I’m thinking it was a book on the subject of using your imagination when putting together scrap books. (I’ve actually been trying to get back to my scrap book making, but my imagination has been on the low end lately. I guess the book would help?)

Well, I’d turned it in, but then decided I wasn’t done with the book, and wanted it back to re-check it again. But, I couldn’t find it. I went to the shelf where it was supposed to be usually, but it wasn’t there. I looked all around, but nope, not there anywhere. So, I asked the librarian about it. They said it had already been transferred to their other library across town, and I could probably find it there.

So, we went over there. For some reason we were walking in this downtown area that may or may not have been a real place I’ve seen before. I get the feeling I’ve had dreams about this downtown before. There are tall and old buildings, empty sidewalks, it’s cold and gray, and the wind is blowing. It’s kind of dark and spooky, but still day time. It’s just the buildings, and being in the shade of them that makes it that way.

Well, we finally get to the other library, and go down a cement ramp to get to the door. Just as we get there, a guy comes out pushing a library cart with books on it. He’s actually the guy who does the story time thing for kids at the library (a real person I’ve seen before). I say we were going in just for a minute to find that book I was looking for, but he says they are closing already. Since he was sort of a friend ? he says he’ll let us go on in, but just for one hour. So we do go in, while he busies himself in the office with paperwork.

I look at all the shelves in this library, and finally, finally find the book, and take it from the shelf. Yep, it’s the one…’Dare to Dream’. It’s the same pink cover and everything.

That was all of the dream, but somewhere in there, and I don’t know why, my grand-daughter was sitting in a high-chair.

I have a lot of recurring dream about libraries (and thrift stores). Do you have many of the same subject dreams? Mine most always have some spooky element to them, too. How about you? I’d love to hear about them! 🙂

2 Christmas Books

2 Christmas Books

***

There are 2 books that I just have to read and have re-read every Christmas season. I dig them out of the far corners of my bookshelf, and can’t wait to start reading them again. I mean, it’s been a whole year since I last read them. I haven’t gotten tired of them, even though I know what they are all about.

Here are the 2 books. They are both a lot of fun to read. Both of them are laugh out loud funny, too.

First is, “Skipping Christmas”, by John Grisham.

It has also been made into a very good movie, which I’ve seen, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tim Allen. You may have seen the movie, “Christmas With the Kranks”, which follows the book very well, but as with all books made into movies, there’s extra fun in reading the original books.

The next one is, “An Idiot Girl’s Christmas”, by Laurie Notaro. She’s one of my favorite authors, as I’ve read all her books, and this one is just as good. She writes short essays of her true life adventures, and they most all have a humorous take on her life. This one is all about the funny things that happen at Christmas time.

***

Anyway, just thought I’d share a couple of fun reads with you, for when you have a little time to settle in with some laughs. 🙂

Random Post # I can’t remember

***

One – There’s a balancing point, it seems for me, between having way too many emails and blogs to be read, and being all caught up, with nothing new to read. I still don’t know which is the best.

Two – Some parts of a day pass really fast, but other parts of the day go by so slowly. Why is that?

Three – Three is still the magic number.

Four – Every day we ask what’s for lunch, what’s for supper, and nothing sounds good…ever.

Five – Do TV ad marketers really think that playing the same imbecilic ads multiple times will drum up business?

Six – Clumsy should be my middle name.

Seven – Just looking at my email notices, and the oldest one I’ve never deleted is from May, 15, 2014. It was a reminder that my Tumblr site was a year old. I haven’t looked at it in all these years. Does anyone still use Tumblr? I couldn’t really figure it out. Is it a dinosaur of the internet?

***Now I have these lines on here, and don’t know how to delete them.

Feline Friday – Father & Son?

This is Big Orange & Little Orange. They look pretty much alike so I’m thinking they are father & son, but not sure, of course. Oh, sometimes we call the big orange cat Big Yellow. He’s the one that likes being patted on the head before eating. He can be sassy with the other cats though. I think they are a bit afraid of him. Little Orange kitty is still pretty shy. The color on these photos don’t really show it, but they have the same color fur.

The Escapist Coloring Club Prompt – November 1, 2018

***

This fun coloring club was started by Linda G. Hill, and here’s what she says…

Welcome to The Escapist Coloring Club prompt! If you’d like to join the club, all you have to do is post pictures of your own colouring, your kids’ colouring, or that of anyone you know and have permission to share. This is a month-long prompt, which means you have all of November to link back here.

Thanks so much, Linda!

My coloring pages have been going pretty good lately. I finished the lion, and added some special flair on the streamers of mane around his face.

The swimming seal was started and finished, and I’m almost done with the deer (or whatever animal this is), with the water.

I’m still using the twist up colored pencils, too. I don’t color every day, but when I do I stay with it for awhile. (sorry, that sounded like one of those silly ads)

Here’s a closer look:

Wishing you all happy coloring in November!

QUESTIONS FOR THIS WEEK:

Is there one post on your site that is really special to you?  (credit for this one goes to CrushedCaramel )

I like all my posts, but there is a some that I’m especially happy with. This is my fan fiction story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire” series. The reason I like this is because it’s the longest story I’ve ever written, and I stuck with it until it was finished. Not to brag too much, but I think it’s a great story! Here’s the first one – https://wp.me/p3RE1e-5dN – The rest can be found by using the sidebar categories.

How Do You Deal With Negative People?  (Athling2001 gets credit for this one)

Everyone has negative thoughts sometimes, but those people who are always complaining, or trying to argue, or never seem to be happy with anything at all, soon become a big bore to me. I try to avoid them.

What Is The First Thing You Think Of When You Wake In The Morning?

First thing is to look at the clock to see what time it is. I don’t use an alarm, but after so many years with the same routine, I wake about the same time every day.

Would You Rather Be Able To Talk With The Animals Or Speak All Foreign Languages?

That would be definitely be able to talk to any animal, and to actually hear what they say. I do talk to animals all the time, and some answer me, but in their language. I pretty much can read their body language, movements, and sounds to know how they are feeling, or what they are wanting, but it would be neat to hear it in my own language.

November is a month in which many people give thanks.  America (and other countries) celebrate an actual Thanksgiving Day. For example, Canada celebrates this in October.

This month the gratitude question will address your life and what things you’ve received or done, that have brought you joy and sometimes relief perhaps.

What small thing happened today (or in the past few days) that you were grateful for?

Today I went to lunch with my daughter and grand-daughter, and then shopping. We always have a great time talking, being silly, and laughing a lot.

Nanopoblano is the National Blog Posting Month, and is the brainchild of Ra, of Rarasaur!  https://rarasaur.com/2018/10/29/are-you-in/

And another link explaining how it works – https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/

I’ve taken part in this fun challenge several times over the years, and it’s a great way to meet other bloggers, and have some fun.

There’s never an official theme to the challenge…post whatever you want, just make a commitment to post something every day in the month of November.

Somewhere there is a helpful prompt list, but I haven’t found it yet. So far as a theme goes, I don’t have one, but I post something every day, so one of those I’ll call my NanoPoblano post. How’s that?

Until tomorrow… Cheers to all participating Peppers!
