Q1 – If you were given a boat or yacht today, what would you name it?

Ghost

Q2 – Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey) Plus, what would the 8th dwarf’s name be?

I’d probably be Dopey. That’s because I’m always bumbling around acting silly. The 8th one, if about me, could be called Dizzy, because I’m dizzy a lot of the time with vertigo.

Q3 – Name a song or two which are included on the soundtrack of your life.

Hard to name just a few, but here goes with a few, and why…

“Love Is All Around” by the Troggs.  …  The date – 12/23/69, the place – a church, the reason – got married. (we played this song on an old record player as we walked down the aisle together. It was ‘our’ song.)

***

“Serenade” by the Steve Miller Band.  …  As long as I can remember I’ve watched the sky, looking at the wonder that is outer space, at the mysteries it holds, and maybe a ufo?

***

“Peaceful Easy Feeling” by the Eagles.  … Feeling peaceful and easy with someone, the desert and the stars. Yes!

***

“Imagine” by John Lennon.  … Peace and Love…wouldn’t it be wonderful!

***

Q4 – Complete this sentence … I like watching …

I like watching my grand-kids play and learn new things, and hearing what they have to say. I like watching my cats, the sky, the birds, insects, spiders, and the rain.

A to Z BLOG CHALLENGE 2016 – LETTER H

A to Z BLOG CHALLENGE – LETTER H 4bd62ad9-ea74-4273-967b-7c426c911c61 IMG_2347

I’d like to wish you a Happy Saturday!

Today is brought to you by the letter H, because…

H…is for Happy! 🙂

~

Back in the years 1970 through 1974, there was a television show…you may remember it, called, “The Partridge Family”. This was about a family that were juggling a regular home life, and also touring and singing their songs. It starred Shirley Jones, as the mother, and David Cassidy as one of the children in the band.  It was a fun show, I thought. Anyway, their theme song for the show is called, “C’mon Get Happy”.

~

H…is for Happenings! 🙂

Back in 1957, Allan Kaprow, first coined the term, ‘happening’. It is used to describe an impromptu grouping of people, for participating in a public display of performance art. These can be for any type of performance, such as music, theater, festivals,  and any number of activities. Today, you could say a flash mob is a ‘happening’, and also the widely popular Zombie Walk, that takes place in many cities on a certain day. Each performance of a ‘happening’ is unique and unpredictable, as it emphasizes the interaction between performers and a random audience.

Here’s a song by the Supremes, called the Happening, which is a pop song, released by Motown, in 1967.

~

And, one more, because it’s a good song. This is The Turtles, performing their hit song, “Happy Together”. It was written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon,  and released in 1967.
