Tiny Tim (Herbert B Khaury, 1932-1996), was an American singer. He was well known as the ukulele player with the high falsetto voice, and long curly hair. In 1969, he married ‘Miss Vicki’ on one of the first televised weddings. It was on “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson”. I remember seeing this on TV. His best known and signature song is called “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”. It is very unusual, and memorable.

A fun fact: I once drew a huge poster of him, that was hung up in our high school cafeteria, during a special senior carnival event. On the picture of him, I wrote ‘Tiny Tim Loves You’. haha…actually everyone liked it.

Here’s Tiny Tim singing “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”

~

“Tiptoe Through the Tulips”, as performed by Tiny Tim, was a song written in 1929, by Joe Burke and Al Dubin.

Tiptoe through the window
By the window, that is where I’ll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me

Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

Knee deep in flowers we’ll stray
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

(Tongue clicking solo)

Knee deep in flowers we’ll stray
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

CEE’S SHARE YOUR WORLD

Share Your World – May 15, 2017

It’s time for another Share Your World, with questions from Cee and answers from me!

How many languages do you you speak?

I speak English. I took 2 years of French in high school, and remember some of it, but don’t really have occasion to use it. I know a little Spanish, just because there are lots of Spanish speaking people here, and I hear it all the time. Then, I know a few sentences in German, Japanese, and Korean, because we lived in those countries for a little while. Oh, and for fun I know Pig Latin, and OP language. My name said in OP is… Bop-a-rop-bop-a-rop-a 🙂 This is kinda funny, because my grand-daughter’s name for me is Bop. She came up with that herself.

What are you reading, watching, listening to, eating?

I’m kind of in between books to read right now. I hate that I can’t settle on one. I keep trying this one and that one, and none gets me interested enough to continue. I have stacks of books to be read, too. The last book I finished in a few days was, “The New York Regional Morman Singles Halloween Dance”, a memoir  by Elna Baker. Before that I read the “Maze Runner” series, by Michael Grant, and the “Gone series, by James Dashner. Those were fantastic YA books. I’ve been reading, “Ready Player One”, by Ernest Cline, too, but just in small pieces. It’s really good, but I only am on page 103, after  a year.

Meanwhile, I read lots of great blogs! 🙂

I’m not watching anything. I barely watch any TV, but am waiting for Big Brother to come back on, I think the end of June. That’s all I really like to watch.

I listen to the Eagles Greatest Hits over and over. I listen to oldies radio in the mornings while doing my make-up, and in the truck. I’ve been listening to all the music videos I post on here!

I just got done eating a chef salad for lunch. I’m cooking a pot roast for supper. I’m on an obsession for eating Puff Corn. They taste like popcorn without the hulls, they’re crisp, but yet melt in your mouth. Yum!

What was the last photo you took with your phone?

The last photo I took with my phone was not suitable for here, so I took another one…:) This is the plant I got for Mother’s Day. Really cool. 🙂

What is your favorite time of day?

I like late at night best, but my timetable has changed, so now I’m up before dawn, about 4 a. m. I like when everything is dark and quiet, either early or late.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I had a nice Mother’s Day, with a long phone conversation with my daughter who lives out of state, and lunch with my daughter here in town. I received super cool gifts from everyone. This week there is nothing I know of planned, so I’ll just go with the flow, and see how it goes.

Wishing y’all a wonderful week ahead!
