It’s Song Lyric Sunday, and Helen has challenged us with the prompt word ”think’. Thanks so much, Helen, for providing a place for us to showcase some songs we like, whether old ones or new ones.

This song is one I’ve liked ever since it came out. It reminds me of road trips, because we always heard it when we were traveling down a highway.

It may be a stretch for the ‘think’ prompt, but it does have the word in the lyrics. I read that it was inspired by a similar experience that Rod Stewart had in his past.

“Maggie May”, by Rod Stewart, was released in 1971, from his album, “Every Picture Tells a Story”. It was written by Rod Stewart, and Martin Quittenton, and is on the Mercury label.
