Here’s some of my key chain collection. I know I have more somewhere, just didn’t want to dig them out.

There are so many interesting ones you can get, and pretty much about any subject or topic.

There are those you can purchase at concerts, and museums. You can find them for sale at airport gift shops in all cities (along with magnets), and tourist attraction sites. There are give-away key chains, too, that companies hand out. There are useful ones, such as bottle openers, and hooks to hang on a lady’s purse.

Whatever you’re interested in you can probably find a key chain for it.

  • shiny blue key that is also a bottle opener
  • a plastic orange advertising one shaped like the number one
  • a red and yellow electric guitar with flames (the ring is broken off on this one)
  • a Ninja? with a red mask on, and wearing white outfit

***

  • Concert key chain from Miranda Lambert (her picture)
  • Concert key chain from the Dixie Chicks (black with gold letters)

***

  • a silver coffin keychain
  • a silver dog whistle

***

  • Souvenir key chain from Roswell NM (red & white – words say ‘do not enter – use of deadly force authorized – Area 51)
  • Silver UFO and alien with words Roswell 1947

***

  • Silver and turquoise hook key chain to hang on my purse (makes keys easy to find)

Neon Sign Photo Challenge – January 2019

https://vintageneonsigns.wordpress.com/2019/01/02/january-photo-challenge/

***

TammyB, at the above link has started a new photo challenge. Looks like fun!

We are to find neon signs, vintage or newer ones. The link above has the details.

***

This months prompts are:

Green

run/movement

arrow/s

cloudy/clouds

drink

freestyle (whichever sign you want!)

***

Garcia’s is a local Mexican restaurant where we go sometimes. The neon sign outside is green! Inside there are lots of neon signs advertising beer, so this Dos Equis one maybe qualifies as a drink sign? Or maybe it would be just a cool freestyle sign. I liked it, anyway.

The yellow guitar was for Shiner Bock beer, which is printed on the neck of the guitar. It was really pretty in person, but because the neon was so bright, it didn’t show up very good in the photo.

Last one is for Bud Lite beer, and there is an arrow!

COVER BAND – for FFfAW (FLASH FICTION for ASPIRING WRITERS)

Standard

COVER BAND

It was all the guy’s dreams to be the next guitar god, the next rock star, the next featured cover on the Rolling Stone Magazine. I was no exception. I wanted the fame and fortune, and yes, the girls.

I saved my allowance money, bought a second-hand guitar, and practiced. That got me invited to be a member of a hopeful garage band. We had a few gigs around town, had some local fame, but then it died down; we went our separate ways.

In college, I majored in art and music. The entertainment industry still called to me. I wonder what happened to those guys from high school? Did they follow their dreams, become famous? I don’t know, but I’ve met thousands of rock stars who did find that elusive dream.

I enjoy what I do. I may have never become famous for my guitar or voice, but my talents are in demand now. I’m famous in my own way. I design album covers. The burning guitar is my latest piece.

PLANNING AND PRACTICING

PLANNING AND PRACTICING

I’ve been doing some planning and practicing, lately.

The A to Z Blog Challenge begins on April 1st. This is a month long writing challenge. Every day, except Sunday, the participants will blog something that corresponds to a letter of the alphabet. The choice of subject is as varied as there are bloggers. Some write randomly, and some pick a certain theme to follow during the month.

I did this on both my blogs last year; all were random posts. This year I do have a theme, and will be only on this one blog.

The theme, or subject I’ll be writing about, is word definitions. I’m calling it ‘Daffy Definitions’. I found words in the dictionary that I didn’t know the meaning of, then made up a definition for it, before looking at the true one.

Some of these turned out to be pretty silly. Then, I wrote a sentence, using the word.

At the end, I did write down the actual, true meaning/definition of the chosen word.

So, with a bit of humor included, I hope you’ll enjoy my Daffy Definitions, and even a new word you may not have known about, like I did.

That’s what I’ve been planning to do, and getting it all in order for the first day of the challenge.

As for the practicing…I’m trying to learn how to play the guitar. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and so far it’s fun, but harder than it looks. I’ve practiced a lot, and now have my fingers getting used to pressing the strings, so it doesn’t hurt as much. Yay! Someday I hope to actually play a song.
