CEE’S BALCK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE – LETTERS U/V

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Letters U or V

***

This time we are asked to find photos with the subject letters of U and V.

First is of an underpass by Dallas/Ft. Worth airport, as we were flying over.

Next is a UFO replica at the UFO Museum in Roswell, NM.

That’s all I could find for U.

I kept finding ones for V, though.

Voodoo potato chips, vegetables, vines (Virginia Creeper), and geese flying in a V shape.

52 WEEKS PHOTO CHALLENGE – EMPTY SPACES & DEPTH OF FIELD

52 WEEKS PHOTO CHALLENGE – EMPTY SPACES & Depth of Field

***

These two weeks for the challenge we were to find photos that show an empty space around the main subject of your photo, and then photos that show a depth of field. I’m not familiar with how to do the depth of field ones. I don’t have a macro camera (?) so just had to find something that was a sort of close up of something, with a blurred background. These probably were not what they were looking for, but sort of close…maybe? 🙂

YES – for SOCS – STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS SATURDAY socsbadge2016-17

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 19/16

***

Today’s SOCS is brought to you by the word YES. 🙂

***

Yes, I can start talking about the word yes. Here are a few things I can say YES about:

  • Yes, it’s Saturday, and I’ve gone nowhere today. I’ve done some laundry, and read some blog posts, and typed some of my own.
  • Yes, we are having home made stew and cornbread for supper
  • Yes, we had our first freeze of the season this morning
  • Yes, I’m drinking my afternoon coffee right now
  • Yes, I listened to my grand-daughter sing about Figgy Pudding today. It’s a funny word 🙂
  • Yes, the Canada geese have arrived back in town (and our playa lake next to the house) for their winter stay
  • Yes, I’ve included a song by the Carpenters
  • Yes! 🙂

COLOR YOUR WORLD – VIVID TANGERINE untitled untitled

Today’s color to match is called Vivid Tangerine, a shade of orange. This color patch looks more like a peach to me, and not very vivid at all. Anyway, here’s some pretty orange photos. 🙂

WRITING 101 … PLAY WITH WORD COUNT

Standard

WRITING 101 … PLAY WITH WORD COUNTcropped-seal_v2-03

For day # 12, we are supposed to write to a specific word count, trying to make it a bit different than our usual posts. So, if we usually write a long post, we should try to do a short one, and if we usually write a short post, we should try to write longer. Or we could alter an already written piece to reflect this, if we want to.

Anyway, I think most of mine are usually medium to long, so I am trying a 50-word count piece. I’m no stranger to the short, micro-fiction type of writing, as I do the Friday Phrases over on Twitter every week. You can only write a story/phrase within the confines of a 140-character tweet. Those are lots of fun to do. Here then, is my 50 word story…

NIGHT FLIGHT

Winter looms. They fly in under cover of a dark night in Autumn. The midnight moon casts shadows on the silvery pond far below. Silent stars guide them from above. Hundreds of their kind circle gracefully into the water, murmuring relief. Their southward journey is complete. The geese have arrived.
