Over the Rainbow Bridge – RIP Cricket

Over the Rainbow Bridge – RIP Cricket

***

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m so sad to say that our fur baby Cricket crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning.

She had not been well this past week, and after antibiotics and steroids weren’t working, she took a serious turn for the worse over the weekend.

After 10 years of being a part of our family, Cricket will be missed so much. She was loved.

I don’t know your beliefs, but I believe we will see our beloved pets again someday. In my mind’s vision, I saw all our other pets who have gone across the bridge, come gathering around to welcome Cricket. She will not be alone or lonely there.

I never say good-bye, just …see you later. ❤

Feline Friday – The Culprit

Feline Friday

First thing I see this morning was this in the kitchen.

Cat food crunchy food bits spilled all over the floor. (white container/blue top on the side/red & white cup)

Yes, the container with the cat food crunchies was turned over. It was a big mess to clean up.

Who do you think was the culprit?

“Not me!” said Cricket.

International Cat Day – Cricket

***

~from Wiki~ International Cat Day is a celebration which takes place on 8 August, every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare

***

This is our cat, Cricket. She is probably a Maine Coon Cat, as she is very fluffy and large. Her fur is mingled brown, white, and tan. We’ve had her about 10 years. She has beautiful green eyes. The second photo shows Cricket with a blue ribbon she likes to play with.

Color Your World – Bittersweet

Color your World: Bittersweet

Today for Color Your World we have things that look like the Crayola Crayon called Bittersweet.

  • Crayola Crayon – Bittersweet
  • Orange flowers that look a bit bittersweet
  • Bittersweet Color info – hue family of orange, first introduced in 1949
  • My drawing of a rectangle with triangles on top, colored bittersweet & the word written in the middle
  • My cat Cricket peeking out of a quilt that has bittersweet elements
  • My art mosaic of three horses, one is bittersweet
  • A Lion Fish in a bittersweet color pottery bowl (seen at the Kansas City MO aquarium)
  • A spider in a cup – the cup was red plastic outside/white inside, but the lighting makes it look bittersweet

Love Is In Da Blog – Pets – Day 20

https://thebeewritesdownloads.wordpress.com/2019/02/20/love-is-in-da-blog-20-a-love-song-for-our-pets-prompt-post-for-february-21th/

For today’s song, we are supposed to find one for our pets. Thanks, Bee!

This one was kind of hard for me to find, because I don’t have any special song for Cricket.

So I kept looking for songs that might work, and found this one, which I like a lot. There weren’t any videos I could find with cats in them, though. Found some with penguins, a pig, and these cartoon unicorns. Oh well…

We got Cricket when she was a teeny tiny baby. I don’t know where she came from, just showed up, but the other outside cats were not nice to her, being bullys and not letting her eat the food we set out. So we took her inside. We had two dogs, and three cats here already, and Cricket immediately got along with them all.

That was nine years ago.

Here’s my Cricket! She’s sweet and I love her. ❤

Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Yawn

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 16/19

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “yawn.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “yawn,” when you sit down to write your post. Enjoy!

Three Things Challenge # 2

Today’s prompt: apples, laser, Michigan

***

I’m combining these two challenges in one today. We have SOCS hosted by Linda G. Hill, and the Three Things Challenge hosted by Paula. You can find details and other entries at the two above links.

***

Trying to think of something using these three words that pretty much have no connection – apples, laser, & Michigan, is making me yawn.

You see, the 3TC and the SOCS challenge both are today – Saturday.

Three Things Challenge & Stream of Consciousness Saturday challenge are writing prompts, and I kind of want to combine them, because I can’t think of anything to do with either of them separately.

My cat Cricket is staring at me, wanting me to get up and get her something…probably food. She won’t eat apples, though, or any people food, except maybe a tiny bite of bacon or something once in awhile. There isn’t any apple flavored cat food that I know of.

We don’t live in Michigan, either. I did hear on the news that the cold weather up there froze some apples on the trees, which then they called ghost apples. That’s because of the ice that covered them, then the apples turned to mush, leaving behind the frozen ice form of the apple. The pictures looked pretty.

What’s any of that got to do with lasers? Nothing at all. We have a cat toy that shines a red laser dot for Cricket to chase around. Except she doesn’t. She just looks at it for a minute. Then she yawns.

Here’s a photo I took of her yawning one day.
