It’s time for another SYW, with questions from Cee and answers from me!

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

What is your favorite type of dog? (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)

List at least five favorite flowers or plants.

  1. I wear black most all the time. Black pants, always, and mostly black shirts/sweaters with a colorful design, is my usual outfit. If I’m not wearing black, I have some combinations of brown.
  2. My favorite kind of dog is the Basset hound. We’ve had several over the years. Ours were big, lovable, and fun. They all wanted to be lap dogs, though.
  3. Five favorite flowers or plants would be … chrysanthemums, cactus, sunflower, hollyhocks, and larkspur. I like irises and roses a lot, too. Well, I like pretty much every kind of plant and flower, but have no luck growing them.

Do you prefer juice or fruit?

I hardly ever drink fruit juices. I’d much rather eat the whole piece of fruit.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

Growing up I’d say the city was medium sized. It’s grown a lot over the years to over 200,000. I liked it fine way back when, and I like it fine now. We complain about the traffic sometimes, but it is actually lots better than in huge cities, like Dallas for instance. I’d be lost trying to drive there. There’s plenty to do here, if you look for it and enjoy getting out and about.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

All the colors, because I like a fiesta of all things. My favorite color is black, though. Weird, but add a pop of color to black and it looks great!

Ways to Relax List: Make a list of what relaxes you and helps you feel calm.

Having ADHD it is hard for me to be still and relax. I have to be in motion, even when just sitting ‘still’. Relaxing is blogging, writing, reading, playing with the cats, coloring, etc. I never have trouble going to sleep at night, but have to have my stars shining up on the ceiling, my soft blanket, and my sound machine playing ocean waves.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

We had fun getting to go out to eat with our daughter and grand-daughter last week. It had been since before Christmas, what with one then another of us being sick with a cold. Looking forward to going out with them again really soon! 🙂

OCTPOWRIMO – POEMS – # 8 – SKY BLUEIMG_20150928_151453

Today for writing a poem, we were given the suggestion to think of our favorite color, or a memory of a color, that has meaning for you. Mine is sky blue. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved looking up at the sky, in all it’s wonderful shades of color. From midnight’s inky darkness, with moon and stars shining, to fabulous sunrises and sunsets, painting the sky with flames, of orange, and red, all are fascinating to me. I take pictures…lots of pictures of the sky. Each one is different…each time you look at the sky, it is changing, from moment to moment.

Here are a trio of Haiku poems, honoring the sky…

Enchantress of space

Gaze into the sky of blue

Universal Peace

Incandescent sun

As above you burn sky blue

Breathe…refresh your soul

Ever-changing sky

Blue azure sea above us

Ever-lasting love

Looking out into the sky of blue with clouds, from airplane.
