It’s July already! Hard to believe how fast the months are flying by, isn’t it!

I didn’t post a mid-month June coloring page, because we were on vacation, but I did color some pages. My daughter, grand-son, and I spent time at the kitchen table just coloring away while we talked and had snacks. It is so fun!

Anyway…I asked my grandson if I could post his original drawings and coloring on my blog, and he said sure I could. He’s 8 years old, and a good artist, I think, already. This time he was drawing characters from the video game, “Plants vs Zombies”. Here they are… 🙂

For myself, I finished one I’d started last time…

I made some progress on this red, white, and blue one…

…and, did a couple of other ones…

***

So, that’s my coloring fun through the month of June. It’s still early in July, and I’m sure I’ll have some more pages done before the month is done.

Here’s what I’ve been working on coloring lately. I’m still using the new colored pencils I got, the Twistables from Crayola. They work really well.

I have a lot of all kinds of coloring books, all with pretty designs, but sometimes I get tired of all the tiny details on the pages. That’s why for a break from those, I have some regular kid’s coloring books. The pictures are larger, so they are easier to color in. The last photo is one of these. I have some more with even larger pictures, and I can add my own swirlies and dots and things, to make it interesting. 🙂

Until next time, happy coloring!

Thanks for hosting this fun Escapist Coloring Club, Linda! Why not join in! It’s creative and relaxing. Click the above link to find out how. 🙂

I know it is a little past mid-month May, but here’s what I’ve been coloring so far this month.

I did finish the vegetable basket, using the old pencils, I think. I may have done the basket in the new pencils I got. I had a great suggestion from Janet, about these Crayola Twistables pencils. They work so much better than those I had been using. Thanks so much, Janet! You can find her fun blog and coloring pages here: https://scr4pl80.wordpress.com/2018/05/02/making-memories-in-may-2018-2/

So, I’ve been more in the mood to color the pages since I have these pencils, as they show up much better.

I finished the feathers last night, and the last photo is what I’ll be coloring next.

Escapist Coloring Club – May

The Escapist Coloring Club Prompt – May 1, 2018

Wow! Here it is the month of May, already!

It’s time for another entry in the Escapist Coloring Club, hosted by Linda G. Hill. Find out how to join in, by clicking the link above. It’s fun!

Thanks, Linda, for thinking of this fun idea for us to do. 🙂

So, I did finish this lantern that I’d started, and showed you recently. I did it in all markers.

***

Then, I started working on this one of vegetables in a basket. It has more details to fill in, but looked pretty interesting. I’m using only colored pencils on this one. To me, it’s harder to use the pencils. I keep expecting the colors to be as bright as the markers, and they are just not. Maybe it’s the kind of pencils I have, or something, but I have to press down so hard to get them to show up, and almost have torn the paper!

I’m trying to do some shading on the vegetables, too. Still got some areas to finish, yet. So far I’ve been 2 days (well, nights) on this page. I only do the coloring for about an hour, because my hand is hurting by then. I still do enjoy the coloring and the books.

Here’s the books I used:

The first one my daughter got me for Christmas, and the second one I’m pretty sure I got at the dollar store.

First of all, I wanted to showcase this original drawing of a cat.

It was sketched and colored by my grandson, who is 8 years old! He called it a Harry Potter Cat.

He has been a creative and talented artist, in several mediums, since very early on.

Didn’t he do a fantastic job! 🙂

Now, here’s the coloring pages I’ve been working on.

I finished this one.

This page is from the 60s coloring book. I like using the black marker, except it tends to smear, making it look messy. I may need to use a smaller point marker, or just do the black parts in colored pencils.

***

This one I finished completely. It’s from the Mehndi Designs coloring book. There are lots of fun pages in this book.

Here’s the one I’m working on today, from the same book. This time I’m going to be using only the colored pencils. So far it’s taking longer, as the pencils don’t just glide across the paper like a marker does. Still, the pencils don’t run out fast, like markers do.

Wishing you all a fun and colorful March! 🙂
