What are you reading right now?

What was your first adult job?

 What’s your favorite breakfast cereal?

I’ve been reading a couple of series books at the same time. They are YA fiction. One is the ‘Quarantine’ series by Lex Thomas, and the other is, the ‘I Am Number 4’ series of these ‘Lorien Legacies’, by Pittacus Lore. I like them both, and am several books into the series of both.

My first adult job was as an office worker at a place that made hog and chicken watering systems. It was called Retco Mfg. I was still in high school, and worked part time in the afternoons. It counted as part of my studies/classes, and I got a paycheck!

My favorite breakfast cereals to eat are Rice Crispies, Rice Chex, and stove top cooked oatmeal.

If you were having difficulty on an important test and could safely cheat by looking at someone else’s paper, would you do so?

I probably wouldn’t cheat by looking at the answers someone else put on their test paper. They might have the wrong answer, and then so would you. I’d rather take a guess on the question, and make my own mistakes, or maybe even get it right.

What things in nature do you find most beautiful?

All of nature is beautiful to me. To name a few: outer space, stars, moon, planets … forests, woods, trees … mountains … deserts … and all animals, from the smallest to the largest, are beautiful in their own way. (for me the exceptions would be fish, ticks & fleas, mosquitoes, cockroaches)

Complete this sentence: When I travel I love to….

When I travel, I would like to stop at all the yard sales I see. I’d like to see all the quirky little roadside attractions, too. This won’t happen, though. That’s if we travel by car. If we are flying I’d like to get there with no delays in the airports! Also, when I travel, I love to watch all the people. I can see some pretty strange things happening sometimes. 🙂

What was the last URL that you bookmarked or saved?

The last two that I saved were, TexNewMexRocks and WestTexasRocks. These are Facebook groups that I joined. They are for members to post about rock painting. We paint our rocks, tag them with the group name, and hide them for others to find. If we find a painted rock, we post a picture, and then re-hide it. It’s so much fun!

Do you believe in the afterlife?  Reincarnation?

Yes.

If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?

I am a writer, and I’ve tried all of these types of writing. I feel I do best at poetry, short stories, and essays. Some of my poems have been published. Of course I write all the time on this blog, including poems, short stories, and fan fiction.

What is your favorite cheese?

American and Colby/Jack. Well, I like most cheeses of the ones I’ve tried. Not blue, though. I don’t really want moldy cheese. One time I wanted to do a little experiment to try all different kinds of cheeses, going by the alphabet and keeping a record of which ones I liked. You know…A for American, B for some kind that’s not Blue, C for Camembert, D for …and on and on. The thing was, cheese is expensive, and you can’t just buy a taste…you have to buy a whole hunk. I knew they’d go to waste, plus I’d be out mucho dinero! So, I never did that.

Are you left or right handed?

Right handed. I’ve tried using my left hand, and it’s so awkward feeling, plus you can barely read what I wrote.

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

Mind = all the time … body = almost never, unless you count walking around the grocery store, or dancing around to music, by myself.

Complete this sentence: Hot days are …

Hot, Hotter, Hottest, Hades. We live in Hades during the summer.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Rain, more rain. Not grateful for the laryngitis I had over the weekend. Grateful it is better today.

For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot and spicy, spicy and sweet, bitter, salty, bland or other?

I’m bored with pretty much all food. It’s the same stuff over and over, and mostly whatever is easy to cook. One of our sayings, almost every day, is …it’s something to eat. If we’re not too lazy to get up and get ready, we’ll go out to eat, but all that is boring to us, too. I guess you’d say we eat to live, not live to eat. That said, I prefer Mexican food, hot and spicy. That’s my go to meal when I can’t think of anything else. I don’t know why anyone would want a bitter meal. What is that, anyway? I don’t like much salt on things, but sweets are always good. 🙂

Where do you hide junk when people come over?

People don’t come over here, so we don’t have to hide anything. If anyone ever did come over, they’d just have to see what they see.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

None, because if I get started on something, I’m an addictive kind of person, so I’d over do it.

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

I don’t like the circus. Clowns scare me, the animals are poorly treated, the place stinks, and crowds are not my thing.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

We had rain two nights in a row, with awesome thunder and lightning!

What goal are you working on now? Your goal can be something fun or extremely serious.  Have fun with this question.

I don’t know that I’ve ever had what you’d call a goal. There are some things I want to get done, and I either do them or not, but I wouldn’t call them a goal. Maybe this is a goal…to have started a blog, and have stuck with it. I do love blogging, and writing. Maybe writing is a goal. Then again, I never set out to do that. It’s just part of who I am, and what I do, since forever. I suppose posting my fan fiction story on my blog was/is a goal. I wanted people to read it, and that has happened! (thank you, readers). I wanted to be published, and that has come true. I have a couple of my poetry pieces published in a magazine. 🙂 I would say a goal would be to have a book published, but that is probably never going to happen, as I am totally lost when it comes to understanding how to do that. (see question 4 below).

What is one thing you’re glad you tried but would never do again?

Hmm…if I would never do something again, I probably wouldn’t be glad I tried it. Can’t think of a thing, at the moment.

Did you choose your profession or did it choose you?

I never had a profession, or career, as such. I worked in offices for awhile, but that’s just because I knew how to type, file, take shorthand dictation, etc. I don’t like jobs, and I’ve had a ton of them over the early years. Glad I don’t have to do that any more.

Have you ever gotten lost?

I get lost all the time! To be actually lost for awhile, is almost an every day thing. I get lost driving in my own neighborhood sometimes. (Crazy dead ends, and such) If you take the wrong turn, it can take ages to get back to something familiar. Mostly, I’m lost in thought…daydreaming, thinking of things to write about, and lost in confusion about lots of things. I’m lost when it comes to anything to do with numbers (discalculia), and figuring out directions to just about anything. I have a hard time hearing someone tell me how to do something simple, or seeing someone do it to show me how, or reading about how to do something. Actually, reading the directions works best, but still I get lost after a couple of items. You know how they say it’s easy to start a Word Press blog? Just do this and this, and voila you have a blog. haha…it took me months…months to understand what they were talking about. (goal accomplished – see question 1).  I’m glad I finally did, though I still don’t get a lot of it, like widgets! I’ve never been able to figure that out. 🙂

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

We had rain! Good old thunder and lightning and pouring rain last night. 🙂 More of the same is what I’d like to see coming up!

What do you do when you’re not working? If you are retired, what do you that is not part of your regular daytime routine?

Take out of body excursions to visit other universes, just to see how alike or different the aliens are from us here on Earth.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Jump up and down, screaming, “I won!” Then, have to go to the emergency room, because I don’t ever really jump up and down, so I’d be all hurting from all the unusual activity.

What makes you laugh the most?

Trying not to laugh, makes me laugh even more.

What is your biggest pet peeve with modern technology?

Myself, because I mostly don’t understand it.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m glad we have had Cee’s questions to answer last week, and the week before, and the week before that, and looking forward to more questions from Cee next week, and the next week, and the next week! 🙂

What’s your strongest sense?

My strongest sense would be my 6th sense, such as intuition, ESP, psychic knowing, reading people and their feelings and emotions.

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)

I’d probably be Happy, because I feel happy most all the time, like in happy-go-lucky. Nothing much gets me upset. Also, people would say I’m a bit of Dopey, since I’m pretty silly, say things wrong, bump into things, laugh at everything and nothing, and love all weird things.

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

I’d pick 25. I’d still want all the experiences I’ve had since then, and have my kids, but I’d have more energy.

List of Jobs You Think You Might Enjoy: Even if you aren’t thinking about a career change, it can be fun to think of other jobs you might enjoy.  [Remember:  This is SYW where even your dreams can become reality.]

I haven’t had a job in many years, and I like it that way. If I had something I wanted to do for fun, I’d like to just keep on doing what I do every day. Since we’re just dreaming here…I’d like to have magic powers of growing things, like gardening. I’m really bad at it, and don’t like being out in the hot sun. I’d like to be able to sing in tune. I’d like to go exploring caves, dig up dinosaur bones, and artifacts, and explore the stars.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful we didn’t die on the highway going fast. We had a blowout on the tire, but it was a couple of blocks from home, so were going really slow when it happened. I’m happy we got a lovely downpour of rain for a few minutes the other evening. It’s rare around here.

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?

I’d like to live where it is medium, not too hot or cold. But since we don’t, I’d like it to he hot all the time. I just don’t like cold weather. Snow is pretty, but too cold for me. Really, anything below say 60 is too cold. Here it does get over 100 in the summer, but it’s not that bad if you have air conditioning in the house and car.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

Long…always. I’ve had it pretty short in the past, and wish I’d never tried it. I couldn’t wait until it grew out long again. I went so far as to buy a long wig to wear, until my hair got long.

What is your favorite month of the year?

October/November …fall/autumn is my favortie time of year. There’s Halloween, and a while later is my birthday. The days are nice and warm (or hot) still, yet there is a change in the atmosphere. The breeze is cool. There may be a short cold front move through, but it’s right back to beautiful days the next.

What is the easiest way for your to learn something new?  By reading, by seeing and doing, in a classroom?

I need to see written instructions, step by step, in the simplest words possible. I can watch someone do something, or listen to them explain it, but after a sentence or step or two, I just can’t follow anymore. They can show me how it’s done, but that never helps. I have to take notes with my own words explaining to myself what to do and when.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week…we got to babysit our grand-daughter for a few hours. It is so fun to play with her, and see how much she is learning. I think I played with running around too much, though. My back has been hurting ever since. This coming week…well, there’s nothing I know of special happening. I’ll just have to see how it goes.

Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?

I drink coffee and iced tea all day. In between, I drink bottled water.

Complete this sentence:  Never In My Life Have I….

I have never liked sports of any kind.

If you could be given any gift what would it be?

Well, lots of money…tax free, of course. Then, I could buy whatever I wanted, and give gifts to all the family, too. I like giving gifts more than getting them.

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep, toss and turn, or get up and try to do something productive?

I don’t have trouble getting to sleep. I go to sleep at a moment’s notice, or really I don’t even notice I’ve fallen asleep, until I wake up. I doze off even in the middle of typing my posts, then wake up and keep typing where I left off. I think I may have a touch of narcolepsy. It runs in the family.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Well, every day is the same ‘ol, same ‘ol around here. Nothing special happened last week, and I imagine it will be the same coming up. One thing I’m not grateful for is that my favorite thrift shop closed down. My daughter and I went over there, looking forward to shopping, and the place was empty. It was permanently closed, not just moved to another location. Boo-hoo. We did go to a couple of other thrift stores, and found a few things to buy, but it just wasn’t the same, at all.

I’m grateful my computer is working good (knock wood), and I get to read so many good blog posts, and have little conversations with all of you fantastic, fun, and creative bloggers out there! 🙂
