Share Your World – 2016 Week 7

Week # 7

Q 1 – What are you a ‘natural’ at doing?

I’d say I’ve always been a natural at writing. Not that any of it is perfect, of course, but I have been writing since a very early age. Writing is just something I have to do, and I enjoy it in all its forms. Other than that, I suppose drawing would be pretty natural for me.

Q 2 – Would you prefer a one floor house, or multiple levels?

One story house for me would be best. I wouldn’t mind having a basement, for storage, and for taking shelter in case of tornados. I would not like to climb stairs all the time, at all, since my knees are not great any more, and besides that, I’m so clumsy I know I’d fall down the stairs.

Q 3 – What was your favorite subject in school?

That would have to be English. It’s all about the words, the sentences, paragraphs, stories, essays, and language.

Q 4 – Complete this sentence: If only the rain would…

If only the weather would balance itself out, so we could have sunny days mixed with rainy ones. We seem to get rain all at once, or not at all for months.

Week # 6

Q 1 – What is your favorite word?

Hmmm…the names of all my family members, pets names, love, peace, hugs, stars, moon, …basically I’d have to list the whole dictionary, because I like all the words! I like arranging all the words into sentences, that hopefully make sense, or not… I like writing words to see the shapes of the letters, and saying them out loud in different ways. So… no absolute favorite.

Q 2 – What is your least favorite word?

None, that is as only a word. It’s how words are used…for good, for evil, for harm, for degradation, for bullying, for bigotry…that’s the way I don’t like words.

Q 3 – What turns you off?

Besides the above kind of word use, I do not like people who harm others, or animals.

Q 4 – What is your favorite curse word?

I barely ever say a curse word, just on occasion when I’m especially hurting, or frustrated. I really don’t get why people say them so much, for no reason. It just becomes boring to hear it so much. Since I barely ever say one out loud, when I do it is very effective, and people pay attention.

Q 5 – (oops – out of order question) … What turns you on creatively, spiritually, or emotionally?

Different things at different times. Writing, reading, art, music of all types, love of family, friends, and pets, looking at nature in all seasons.

Q 6 – What sound or noise do you love?

Children’s laughter, little kitten and puppy noises, rain sounds soft or a tempest, wind blowing, howling, whistling through the cracks in the windows, thunder, geese honking on a midnight flight, through the hushed silence of a snow covered neighborhood. That I’ll never forget. Right at midnight, on a New Year’s Eve/Day, we were walking in the snow, when the geese flew over, heading for the lake by our house.

Q 7 – What sound or noise do you hate?

High pitched, screechy noises, the sound of an animal in pain, cars crashing in a wreck.

Q 8 – What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I don’t have a profession, but I’ve always thought being a famous musician would be cool.

Q 9 – What profession would you not like to do.

Anything that has anything to do with fish.

Q 10 – If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gate?

“Welcome to Heaven. Here are all your relatives, pets, and friends gathered to show you around. You have unlimited time to do whatever you like to do best. Go have fun.”

Week # 5

Q 1 – If you had a shelf for your three most special possessions (not including photos, electronic devices, and things stored on them, people, or animals) what would you put on it?

I’d have all my many writing notebooks, diaries, journals; I’d have a bunch of books to read, and unlimited food and water. (sounds like I’m preparing for an apocalypse!) Really, can’t think of anything I possess that would be that important, besides what you said couldn’t be on there.

Q 2 – If you had a box labeled ‘happiness’ what would you put in it?

All the things I couldn’t put on the shelf.

Q 3 – What do you want more of in your life?

Time…I never have enough to do all I want to do.

Q 4 – Daily Life List: What do you do on an average day? Make a list of your usual activities you do each day.

  1. 3 a.m. try to get the cat to be quiet, as he meows for me to get up and feed him. Continue to doze off for a few minutes, in between meows, pawing, walking on me, until I give up at about 4:45 a.m.  I get up, feed cat, get coffee.
  2. Sit at computer desk with coffee, to read stuff. It is dark and quite (I leave lights off) for a couple of hours.
  3. About 7 a.m. go put make up on. Listen to tv news, put laundry on to wash, scoop cat boxes, wash some dishes.
  4. Eat breakfast, around 8 or 9 a.m.
  5. Tend to laundry, wash more dishes. Get back on computer until lunch time.
  6. Eat lunch either at home, or go out.
  7. Make more coffee, get more computer stuff done. This is when I do my writing in the afternoon.
  8. Fix supper and eat, while reading a book. Then do dishes again.
  9. More computer time finishing up writing, answering emails, playing games.
  10. Get more coffee, and snack. Go into bedroom to read until I fall asleep. I sleep good in the recliner. Sometime in the night I get up and go to bed. Then, it is 3 a.m. and cat is bugging me again.

Week 4

Q 1 – What one thing are you glad you did yesterday?

We went over to my daughter’s house for Valentine’s Day. We brought lunch over there, and got to play with our grand-daughter.

Q 2 – Are you generally focused on today or tomorrow?

Q 3 – Would you want a guardian angel/mentor? What would they tell you right now?

We probably all already have one that watches over us. Right now mine would probably tell me to hurry up with this here post, and get up and walk around a little bit!

Q 4 – Would you rather live in a cave house or a house made of glass?

A cave house, if it wasn’t musty and drippy wet. If it was sort of like an adobe house, that would be nice. A good temperature all year round. A glass house would magnify the sun’s heat, and I’d be too hot!

And there you have it. I’m all caught up with Share Your World! 🙂

NABLOPOMO – # 27 – “SHARE YOUR WORLD – # 47”sywbanner

It’s time for another addition of “Cee’s Share Your World”. You can find the particulars of all the fun challenges you may want to take part in here

Share Your World is a weekly question and answer challenge. Here’s the ones for Week # 47…

Q1 – In your native language, which letter or character describes you best? why?

For me, it would be the ellipsis, which I like to call the dot-dot-dot … It is defined as an omission of one or more words in a sentence, and a sudden leap from one topic to another. I use a lot of them (probably too many) in my writing. In fact, that’s essentially the way I talk, too. I do jump from topic to topic, using sentence fragments to get my thoughts out. I think it may be a by-product of having ADHD…a million ideas at once…

Q2 – What is your greatest extravagance?

Buying books and art/craft/office supplies. I cannot resist getting more. New books, used books, little notebooks with cute covers of all sizes, drawing and painting supplies, pens, markers, stickers, papers…it’s all good 🙂

Q3 – Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? how frequently do you do either?

Unless I’m doing household chores, or walking around doing shopping, I’m mostly just typing and writing 🙂

Q4 – List at least 5 things that make you laugh.

I always am laughing at the funny things my grand-kids say and do.

My cats are pretty funny, when they’re not begging for food, or sleeping.

Any kind of bloopers, in print, or when someone (even myself) mix up words.

The book, by Jenny Lawson (the Bloggess) called “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” … I had to put it down several times while reading it because of laughing so hard, and tears were blurring my vision! Now, I want her new one! 🙂

SHARE YOUR WORLD … Week # 25sywbanner

Today’s questions from Cee’s Share Your World http://ceenphotography.com/2015/06/22share-your-world

1. What did you or did you not like about the first apartment you ever rented.

Our first place was a duplex, near an Army base, as my husband was in the Army. It was in Lawton, Oklahoma, and the base was Ft. Sill. The duplex was just a one bedroom, living room, and kitchen…nothing special. What made it a fun place to live, though were the neighbor ladies, who were like me, newly married to a serviceman, so we had a lot in common. None of us had jobs, so we visited and played card games, board games, and played with our dogs (we all had a dog). That’s what I remember best about the first place we lived, away from our childhood home.

2. What kind of art is your favorite? Why?

I like being creative, and I’ve drawn and painted for many years. I mostly do acrylics these days, because it dries fast. I do lots of other crafts from time to time, such as scrapbooking, making jewelry, sewing, embroidery, and crochet, just whatever sparks my interest at the time.

3. How many siblings do you have? What is your birth order?

I have one sister, five years younger.

4. Complete this sentence: I’m dreaming of a white… (and no you can’t use Christmas as your answer)

I’m dreaming of a white…? Nothing much comes to mind, as I don’t like many things that are white. I like vanilla ice cream, hate snow (it’s pretty, but rather not have it), I like a new journal with nice, blank, white pages, and a new canvas to paint on.

5. What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m always grateful when I get to spend time playing with my grand-daughter. We have a lot of fun together. For the week coming up that I’m looking forward to is…this is pretty silly, but true (sorry, don’t hate ;-)… The long year of waiting is finally over…my favorite reality show is coming back on again…Big Brother. I’ve watched every single season of it, and now it is time again.
