Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Rib
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “rib.” Use it as a word, or find a word with “rib”in it. As always, use any way you’d like. Enjoy!
It’s time for Saturday’s fun fest called SOCS, brought to you by our super hostess, Linda G. Hill! Join in and see other entries by clicking the above link. Thanks , Linda!
Okay … rib
First of all I think of BBQ ribs, which we eat quite often around here. We get them at places to eat around town, or pre-cooked ones at the grocery store, or we cook them up ourselves on the grill. Most times it will be spare ribs, or baby back ribs, but the ones that have the most meat on them are the country style ones. All are good.
Scribble has the word rib in there. I like to scribble. I scribble on paper all the time.
We always said the cats were scribble-scrabbling when they sharpen their claws…scratch scratch scribble scrabble. It’s funny they seem so serious about it. When do they think it’s enough scribbling? I don’t know, but they seem very satisfied when they’re done.
Speaking of cats, we had one, Weena, who loved, and I mean loved trying to eat ribbons. Maybe she thought they tasted like ribs? She’d hear us get out wrapping paper and ribbons, and make a bee-line to it and start gnawing on them. It didn’t matter what kind, either.
Cats love to play with ribbons, but keep a close eye on them, because the streamers should not be swallowed…it can be deadly for a cat to get those.
Weena was fast at her ribbon obsession, too, Before you knew it she’d have bitten off pieces. It got so bad that we totally quit putting ribbons on any packages, No ribbons on Christmas or birthday presents any more, because she would find them. We’d try to bribe her away from them, but that almost never worked.
How do I end this?
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter…whether you BBQ ribs outdoors this weekend, or scribble on paper, I hope you have fun. 🙂
Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️
