Today I’m answering some questions about books. I saw this going around, and I love to read and also answer questions.

Check out the answers from Suze, and Diana, at the links below, also. 🙂

My answers:

  1. I don’t have a specific place, as I can read anywhere. Mostly though, it would be in the living room or bedroom.
  2. Bookmarks. I have a lot of them, but can’t find them all the time, because I leave them in books, and I find them later. I usually just leave the book turned face down at whatever place I stopped at.
  3. Yes, I eat and drink while reading.
  4. If it’s daytime when I’m reading at home, the TV is usually on. If at night, it’s all quiet.
  5. At the moment it is one at a time, but usually I have several I’ve started. Each room will have a different one I can just pick up and read while in there.
  6. I’d rather read at home, but usually take a book, or ebook with me, so I can read when I’m somewhere that I have to be waiting.
  7. Silent, unless I’m reading to my grand-daughter.
  8. Sometimes I skip pages, if the part gets too long with descriptions, or is at a boring part. I like getting right to the action, and conversations best.
  9. If I own the book, I will break the spine first thing. I like the book to lay flat. It’s annoying to have to read in the center ditch.
  10. No, I don’t think I’ve ever written in a book. I will write in game type books, such as crosswords, jumbles, and pencil puzzle books. That’s all.
  11. I’m re-reading quite a lot of books about emotionally disturbed children, by the teachers, therapists, and parents that have helped them. The actual one I’m reading now, and almost finished with is, “A Child Called Noah”, by Josh Greenfeld.
  12. I’ve always loved books and reading, and we went to the library regularly when I was a kid. One book of my own, that I loved and memorized before I could even read was, “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. In fact, I still have that original book.
  13. My all time favorite book? That’s hard to answer, as each one I read is my favorite at the time. I’d say my favorite by far is, “Lost Souls”, by Poppy Z. Brite. It’s a paranormal, horror novel about vampires. The characters are unforgettable. I base my ‘fan fiction’ story series, on my blog, on this book. I’ve read it many times since it first came out in 1992. Another favorite book is, “The Survival of Jan Little”, by John Man. It is about a woman who is blind, living in the Amazon jungle. I’ve read this one at least once a year, for many years.
