Just a few of the many crosses I collect. I find them at yard sales, and hang them on the wall in front of my computer. I like how many different designs there are.

Do you like to color? If so, here’s a place you can show what you’ve been coloring. Thanks to Linda G. Hill, for creating this space! Click the above link to see how you, too, can join in the fun. 🙂

It’s July already! Hard to believe how fast the months are flying by, isn’t it!

I didn’t post a mid-month June coloring page, because we were on vacation, but I did color some pages. My daughter, grand-son, and I spent time at the kitchen table just coloring away while we talked and had snacks. It is so fun!

Anyway…I asked my grandson if I could post his original drawings and coloring on my blog, and he said sure I could. He’s 8 years old, and a good artist, I think, already. This time he was drawing characters from the video game, “Plants vs Zombies”. Here they are… 🙂

For myself, I finished one I’d started last time…

I made some progress on this red, white, and blue one…

…and, did a couple of other ones…

***

So, that’s my coloring fun through the month of June. It’s still early in July, and I’m sure I’ll have some more pages done before the month is done.

Random Post # 14 – Current Crafts

***

I like doing lots of crafts. Here’s some photos of some that I’ve done.

The drawings are some zentangle inspired art. The bookmarks are some I’ve done to leave at random places I go. These are left for others to find and enjoy.

Then, just because I like drawing, a page in my art notebook about music.

One of my current projects is painting kindness rocks. I paint them, then leave them around town for others to find, and pass along. It’s fun, and sometimes they post a photo of the one they found.

Back Where I Come From – Day 7

Thanks for hosting the challenge, and the interesting questions, Suzanne!

***

Question:

Day 7 –

  • Did you ever participate in creating graffiti or any type of artwork that would have been confrontational?

***

My answer:

No.

Sorry, this answer is so short. I’ve never defaced any public place with anything, whether nice or confrontational. I’m sure there is some somewhere in our town, but I’ve never seen any.

MANIC MONDAY # 5 – SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

Standard

MANIC MONDAY

Welcome back to another Manic Monday! Today’s theme is called ‘Sentimental Journey’.

Sandi, at “Flip Flops Every Day”, is counting down the decades with this challenge. This theme is from a song featured in the 1940s, by Doris Day.

As always, there is only one rule to this challenge. That is to use the song title somewhere in our post. The rest is up to us what we want to write about. Easy!

Sentimental Journey brings to my mind my many scrapbooks. I have several decades of the ones I’ve made. They don’t go back to the 1940s, but I started mine in the 50s. I think my first one I made was when I was in the 4th grade. I still have it, and it is filled with all kinds of sentimental ephemera, such as notes, letters, cards, keepsakes, and whatever else I found to put in there. I also did some embellishments with drawings, stickers, and magazine cut-outs. It’s fun to look back at all this.

Since then, I’ve made many more scrapbooks along the same lines. They are mostly a big mish-mash of all kinds of things I saved. A few are just for certain places I’ve visited. I’m always saving little things to stick in a scrapbook. It’s fun to make them, and also fun to create all kinds of pages. Anything goes, in my scrapbooks, so it’s definitely a sentimental journey looking back at these.

Here’s a couple of pages from my first scrapbook, and then a couple from more recent ones.

***

Now, here’s a song about a scrapbook. I’d never heard it before, until I looked up the subject, so was amazed there was one. It’s a pretty sad song, though, but fits in with the sentimental journey theme, I think.

“My Scrapbook”, by Jeannie C. Riley, was written by Bill Rice, and Jerry Foster. It was released in 1969, on the album, “Yearbooks and Yesterdays”, on I believe the Charley label.

This time Cee is asking us to find photos of things that are the only thing in the picture.

Here we have a goose, a prairie dog, a cheeto that looks like a duck, a plant growing in some rocks, a moth, and an art piece.

MONTHLY SHAPE ADVENTURE – TEARDROP

MONTHLY SHAPE ADVENTURE – TEARDROP

Join The Teardrop #ShapeAdventure

This month we were to find things shaped like a teardrop. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, so these are somewhat all over the place.

First is an original art piece I made quite a while ago. Next, I tried making these chocolate chip cookies into a teardrop shape. They look weird, but tasted good! 🙂

I like the next one…it was a reflection of something on the pavement in a parking lot. The next one is a bug. I don’t know what kind, but it was on our porch step. It’s kind of teardrop shaped, isn’t it? Last is some tulips, which I think are the right shape.
