Photo is of a worn brown cowboy boot. It has a red bandana tied around it, and a bouquet of sunflowers poking out of the top of the boot.

These were table decorations at a yearly event my dad and I would always attend. It was called the Mayor’s Cornbread & Beans Lunch, and all proceeds from tickets went to the support of our local Hospice.

The food was good, and there was live music from different bands and singers. The mayors from all the towns around here were there, along with local celebrities. They would mingle and talk with everyone at the tables. There was also drawings for door prizes.

This is a month of blue! It’s a fun challenge created by Becky of “The Life of B”, and each day we show something blue. The only rule beside blue, is that the photo MUST be SQUARE!

As an added bonus, I’ve found songs with blue in the title or lyrics. 🙂

Thanks, Becky!

This is a very large and tall colorful soldier, or maybe one of those Christmas nutcracker guys. He is dressed in a tall red hat with blue accents, a blue and red coat with a white X and belt, and blue pants. I took this a long time ago at our local amusement part ‘Joyland’, and he is standing tall by one of the rides. (not shown)

I haven’t had occasion to use this photo before, I don’t think, but he looks pretty regal against the clear blue sky.

We’d gone to the amusement park with our daughters, sons-in-law and our grand-kids that hot summer day. It was a lot of fun.

“Summertime Blues”, by Alan Jackson, was released from his album, “Who Am I”, in 1994, and on the Arista Nashville label. This is his cover of the original Eddie Cochran song, written by Eddie Cochran and Jerry Capehart in 1958.
