Hungrily, I keep checking the clock.

Why is time so slow?

I’m so famished I can barely think

My hunger brings me low

Promptly served meals are what I need

Or fainting I will go

What time is it now…I have to look

Excruciatingly slow I know

***

That’s me every few hours. I’m almost always hungry, and the timing of meals with sugar control of diabetes is pretty crucial. Ugh!

Yesterday, at a restaurant, we got our whole meal for free. That’s because we used a special coupon. We did leave a nice tip, though.

Then today, we checked our fast food purchase after we got home with it, and they’d included two extra chili dogs. They didn’t charge for them, either.

Free food is always welcome, especially when I’m so hungry! 🙂

Stream of Consciousness Saturday – ly

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 9/19

***

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ends with -ly.” Start your post with any adverb that ends in “-ly.” Bonus points if you end with an adverb too. Have fun!

Today we are to start and hopefully end our post with an adverb…a word that ends in the letters ly.

This SOCS is a fun game we play every weekend. Sometimes, like today, we get bonus points for following the prompt exactly! Yay!

Come play along, why don’t you. Just click the above link to find out details, and see other entries. It’s hosted by Linda G. Hill, and she is a lovely person, who always says the more the merrier! 🙂

*** now here is the start of my actual post…

Obsessively, the words ending in – ly – go around, spinning lazily to the forefront of my thoughts, then fading to the background, only to appear once more, hardly giving me a break.

I tried giving up, but barely does this occur to me, than I’m hearing, seeing, thinking again of ly words.

Usually, I can focus on one thing (not really), and get something said about whatever it is, unless…like now…there are too many lovely choices. So many good ly words…or is that goodly words? They say not to use adverbs, the ly words, in your writing…or at least not very many. Why is that? They are perfectly good words. You don’t go censoring your speech when you’re talking about something, automatically leaving out any ly words, do you? No.

Lovely, happily, awesomely, wonderfully, peacefully, are all good adverbs.

Dearly, truly, deeply, otherworldly, eerily, madly, are more good adverbs.

Yeah, I can think of a lot of songs using adverbs, but I won’t put any on here right now, which interestingly enough is an oddly behavior for me.

Totally!
