Well, I didn’t know what to post about today, so I took a look way back in my time machine of post drafts to see what I could see.

Here’s some from the years 2014 & 2016.

Sometimes I just write stuff to remember, or to try to work something out in using the computer, and they are still sitting there. Some are kind of funny now that I look back.

All of these have been resolved – I figured out how to do it. Yay 🙂

Anybody else go searching the long ago drafts you’ve made?

MISSING!

It seems my ‘save’ and ‘preview’ tabs on here have gone missing. They were here earlier, now they are nowhere to be found.

Anybody have any ideas how to find them, I’d sure appreciate it! 🙂

Thanks!

ok that worked ok from download computer/camera pictures. now how do you save a picture from say, pixabay or somewhere ? I try it, it says it’s saved, but then where does it go on the computer pictures? I can’t find them to transfer them to here on the blog? I need to find out how!!!

This windows 10 is hard to figure out. I knew how to do it before they changed everything, and we didn’t want to , it just did it on it’s own 😦 boooo not funny…

2 Christmas Books

2 Christmas Books

***

There are 2 books that I just have to read and have re-read every Christmas season. I dig them out of the far corners of my bookshelf, and can’t wait to start reading them again. I mean, it’s been a whole year since I last read them. I haven’t gotten tired of them, even though I know what they are all about.

Here are the 2 books. They are both a lot of fun to read. Both of them are laugh out loud funny, too.

First is, “Skipping Christmas”, by John Grisham.

It has also been made into a very good movie, which I’ve seen, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tim Allen. You may have seen the movie, “Christmas With the Kranks”, which follows the book very well, but as with all books made into movies, there’s extra fun in reading the original books.

The next one is, “An Idiot Girl’s Christmas”, by Laurie Notaro. She’s one of my favorite authors, as I’ve read all her books, and this one is just as good. She writes short essays of her true life adventures, and they most all have a humorous take on her life. This one is all about the funny things that happen at Christmas time.

***

Anyway, just thought I’d share a couple of fun reads with you, for when you have a little time to settle in with some laughs. 🙂

Nanopoblano is the National Blog Posting Month, and is the brainchild of Ra, of Rarasaur!  https://rarasaur.com/2018/10/29/are-you-in/

And another link explaining how it works – https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/

I’ve taken part in this fun challenge several times over the years, and it’s a great way to meet other bloggers, and have some fun.

There’s never an official theme to the challenge…post whatever you want, just make a commitment to post something every day in the month of November.

Somewhere there is a helpful prompt list, but I haven’t found it yet. So far as a theme goes, I don’t have one, but I post something every day, so one of those I’ll call my NanoPoblano post. How’s that?

Until tomorrow… Cheers to all participating Peppers!

Jinx Corner – NanoPoblano – Day 19

NanoPoblano – Day 19

***

I’ve written a lot of ‘pretend’ letters to businesses, about things I’ve thought about.

Maybe you have wondered the same thing.

***

LOCO LETTER # 4

JINX CORNER

Dear Jinx Corner,

What’s up with your location? Are you truly jinxed?

You do know that every single business that tries to set up operations on your plot of land does not not make it. They go out of business very quickly. What seems like a perfect location in your town, has you to contend with. There is plenty of traffic all around you, and all those stores are doing great. Lot’s of customers come to them, and they stay in business for years at that location. Yet, right next to them is you, Jinx Corner.

Anyone opening a store with you and your jinxy ways, do not make a profit at all. It doesn’t matter what type of storefront it is, or how many customers they have, either. It could be a restaurant, a clothing shop, a sports store, a computer store, or even one that sells mattresses…they all leave within a few months.

Do you enjoy running people off? Do you sit back in your obscurity, twirling your evil-doer mustache, gloating over another shop that bit the dust? Do you have relatives in other towns across the country? I’ve seen their handiwork in lots of places I’ve lived. There is a jinx corner in every town.

There is no use for the citizens to patronize these businesses, or get attatched to their products, because they know, after awhile, that the shops will vanish, and there will be a for sale sign going up really soon.

Townspeople should band together. Maybe they could put up a warning sign…stake it right into your concrete parking lot heart. “Do Not Open a Store Here – You Do Not Want to be on a Jinx Corner”, sounds about right, doesn’t it? How would you like that…not so funny now, is it?

That would be a good warning, and a lesson for you, Mr. Jinx Corner. Take heed…quit sabotaging new businesses…or else!

Gingerly – Daily Post – NanoPoblano – Day 9

Gingerly – Daily Post – NanoPoblano – Day 9

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/gingerly/

https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/2016/09/07/why-blog-everyday-in-november/

It’s approaching that time again

***

Today for NanoPoblano, I’m combining it with the Daily Post prompt word, which is ‘gingerly’.

The first thing I thought of was our Basset Hound, Ginger. She was with us for many years, and such a character she was.

Her mama dog, Maggie, was an AKC registered Basset Hound, and so was Ginger. When she was born, we were right there with mama and babies. Ginger was the first born, and did have a bit of trouble right from the start. She was blue. I don’t know what happened, but we thought she wouldn’t make it, at first. But then my husband gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitatation (yes, to a puppy), and she began breathing and turning a beautiful pink. She was alive and fine after that.

Out of the whole litter of puppies, Ginger was the only one with her ginger and white coloring. The rest of the puppies were black, brown, & white.

One of Ginger’s claim to notorious fame was she was a master at stealing food. She once leaped up and grabbed a whole hamburger from a friend’s hand. She also once, raised up to the table and ate half a birthday cake sitting there.

Ginger and her mother, Maggie, loved to escape, too. Whenever they did, they’d trot off down the sidewalk, nose to the ground, ears dragging, and wouldn’t pay attention to us hollering to come back. We’d have to chase them down.

One fun memory was that on every Christmas Eve night, we’d take both of them for a late walk around the neighborhood. We had some big sleigh bells that we’d take along, and shake them, as we went along.

Ginger (and Maggie, too) was such a character, and they are missed.

Ginger

It’s approaching that time again

This one is for my NanoPoblano post, and is also a regular feature here. I was reading the next few entries to my Diary, and what a funny thing…my last post was for the ‘Would You Rather’ question about wasps, and I can tell you exactly when I got stung by one! It’s written down in my diary entries! 🙂

***

***

For those who haven’t seen my Dear Diary posts before, a little explanation. This is my actual diary I wrote in for a full year, when I was 10 years old. I wrote every day, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little, sometimes funny, sometimes boring, but it was all recorded. Names of relatives are only first initials with relationship in parentheses. I’ve typed the entries just as I wrote them, mis-spellings and all, but corrected in parentheses. More posts of Dear Diary can be found by using catagories, or search box. Hope you enjoy reading my childhood diary! 🙂

It’s approaching that time again

***

Lookie, lookie! It’s November 1st and time again for the National Blog Posting Month. This is a time to post something on your blog every day of November. There’s really no rules, just post whatever you want, add the NanoPoblano Badge, and visit other bloggers who are doing the same.

This will be the 3rd year I’ve participated in this challenge, and it is great fun, to see what everyone posts about. You catch up with old blogging friends, and make new ones along the way.

Last year I had a theme going on with my posts. I have no idea what will be on here this time, so I’ll just call it ‘pot-luck’ posts…a surprise every day. 🙂
