Me – oh – me – oh – meow

Cat wakes up whole house this morn

He is hungry – Now!

Where’s the moon tonight

Mr. Tomcat needs to sing

He is annoying

I finally got to see the babies!

A few weeks ago, March 28, Little Orange had her babies, then she hid them away.

Then, this past Sunday, she brought them out to introduce them to the food bowl. So cute!

Little Orange and Sister cat are still great buddies. Not sure if SC had babies, too, but at least one looks just like her. Anyway, they both are taking good care of all four babies.

Series of photos of mamas and kittens (on the back porch) and in the grass. One black kitty, two orange ones, and one tortoiseshell one.

Then, just as they were toddling around, we had a huge thunderstorm, with hail falling.

They managed to get all the babies to safety, except the hail was so bad, one baby was left on the porch. So we grabbed it up and brought baby inside. I wrapped him in a towel & held him for about an hour. He was very calm, but shivering. After the rain/hail eased up, mama cat came back looking for baby, so I put him back on the porch. He started meowing, and mama came to get him.

Just then it started even more hailing! Mama grabbed baby in her mouth and took off running to safety again.

Finally the storms were over. Since then, babies have been out a little bit, but we’ve had more storms.

Glad we have made them some shelters out there, plus they run next door, too.

Other news, Wow Wow had her babies, too. They are all out in the front yard shelter. There are six of them, but haven’t been out yet.

Here’s a photo of the baby while I was holding it in the towel.

This is Wow Wow!

She’s a really sweet, black and white kitty that just showed up here one day quite awhile ago. When she meows, it sounds like she’s saying ‘wow’, so that’s what we call her.

Interview: Artist With a Message: Jennifer R. Cook

Thank you, Jennifer, for agreeing to this short interview!

Have you always known you wanted to be an artist?

Yes, from a very young age I wanted to be an artist or a mad scientist. In reality, the two are intertwined. I am a creative adventurer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, double major Graphic Design and Illustration. For the past 30 years as a passionate creator using my expertise as a strategic graphic designer to create logos, identity design, branding, packaging, children’s books and more, including custom illustrations for social media for businesses all over the world.

For fun, “What My Coffee Says to Me”, an illustrated series, was born on January 1, 2012, created to boost everyone’s mental health. Fast forward eight years and it is still going. Thank you for that. 🙂

What medium do you use most?

Everything and nothing. I am a creative explorer, and sometimes nothing is the medium for inspiration…well, that and I love playing just for the fun of it. I do enjoy dip ink on parchment – when it dries you can feel the texture of the ink on the surface of the paper.

Where do you get your ideas for a new piece?

Life! Inspiration is everywhere and in everything … meditation, walking in the park, laughing, hearing sounds, being silent and still … always open to receiving ideas from the creator!

After all, ideas are abundant and beautiful in the universe; they float everywhere all the time, waiting to be pulled into creation! I tap into whatever comes my way every day, lead a conscious life, and you can too.

In your own words, what would you like people to know about your artwork and your message?

Everything I create, whether it’s strategic graphic design, illustration for business, or What My Coffee Says to Me series for fun, I create for MY highest good. I infuse everything I create with love, self love. We are perfect creators of our lives. Remember that! You can create your life the way you want. Please LOVE who you are, be inspired through your self love – it will empower you to move mountains for your highest good! You have the power…we all do!

Is your art for sale?

Yes, it is. Some of What My Coffee Says to Me illustrations from the past eight years are in my portfolio on RedBubble – is a quality, print on demand supplier who imprints on throw pillows, prints, travel mugs, etc. You’ll find me in social media, and you can find one of my 2,7000+ illustrations. This is Floyd. He is an all white kitty, and belongs to my daughter.

Here he is sitting on the table, which is is his favorite looking out the window spot in their kitchen/dining room.

Thanks to my daughter for sharing her photos and telling me more about her wonderful and friendly kitty, Floyd! 😉

***

Floyd Facts:

He likes cat treat snacks…but only the “Temptations” brand cat nip flavor.

He loves belly rubs, and sleeping on a warm human body.

He likes to sit on the stairs and stare at people in a super creepy manner.

He loves to lay in the sun and stare out the window.

And, he evidently likes to bite toes! 🙂

Here’s a couple more photos of our Veterinarian’s office cat, Wink.

We took our cat Cricket in for a shot the other day, and of course I had to take Wink’s picture. He has a soft bed up on the counter, with a little teddy bear to snuggle with. They told me last time that they named him Wink because he is blind in one eye. They said he was dropped off at their door one day, and he had a bad eye infection, which they cleared up, but it left his one eye without sight. He is such a sweet kitty!

Here’s Wink, being cute and sitting in his soft bed. He is mostly black, with a white fluffy ruff under his chin and neck.

Little Orange had 3 kittens yesterday. At least I think there were only 3, as they were all in a cuddly pile when I got a glimpse of them.  Sister Cat kept her company. They were hugging and loving on each other all day long, and still this morning. You can’t really see the babies very good here, but there were two black ones, and one orange one. She has moved them now, to the shelter we provide over on the side of the house. 🙂
