Trains and Trolleys—CFFC

There is an old steam train engine here at a museum. We’ve been on it a few times, just to look inside. It’s huge! Here’s a photo of a friend of ours beside that museum one. There’s a railroad crossing sign, too.

This first photo is of our friends, from quite a few years ago, and an old train. It is at the Ranching Heritage Center, and was moved here to be installed to represent the continuing progress of the area over the years.

The second two photos were taken while we were in Japan. They are fun little trains for the kids to take a ride on around the area.

These are some train tracks at a local amusement park. They curve all around the park. You can ride the little train they have.

“Train Train”, by Blackfoot, is on their studio album, “Strikes”, released in 1979. It was written by Shorty Medlocke, and is on the Atco label. The song “Train, Train“, written by Rickey’s grandfather, “Shorty” Medlocke, became their first success and best known song.

      • When I was a little boy it would come through daily and make a stop in town at the train station. The train track and the station are long gone now. The town has just put a walking path in where the train tracks were.

  1. I love trains – all kinds of trains – and these are great. I’ve been on that Sky Train at DFW. I was surprised that they hung it off the side of the terminal, but it was fun to ride. Great music!

    • Thanks, Dan! Fun prompt and trains are really interesting. I’ve only ever been on a train in Germany. We don’t have passenger trains here in our city, just freight ones. Cool you’ve been on the DFW sky train. That was really fun, and it goes so fast and smooth getting people from one area of the airport to another. 🙂

    • Thanks, Sandee! Oh what fun to have Thanksgiving on a train! We used to live right behind a train track, and the kids would wave at the engineer and the guy at the caboose. It was just a freight train, but fun to see it go by.

Have a wonderful new week! ❤

      • That’s a medium sized one! 🤣 I believe the Union Pacific Big Boy’s were around twice that size! I’ll be doing a post for Clare’s Desktop Challenge, so expect a screenshot from Joplin in that 😎👍
