You could say I am a big fan of all kinds of breakfast foods.
I like eggs fixed all kinds of ways, bacon, cereal, toast, jellies and fruits, and pancakes.
I could eat breakfast foods for every meal, and be happy about it. 🙂
Photos show:
- Plate of breakfast foods, egg, bacon, toast & jelly, with a cup of milk and a book to read.
- Egg frying in a skillet
- Folgers Coffee pods
- Vintage drip coffee pot and electric egg poacher
- Pink frosted donuts
- A flat of eggs from my cousin’s chickens
- Funny face made of fruit on a plate = apples for eyes, grape nose, and a banana smile
- Pancakes made into a Micky Mouse shape with chocolate chip smile & eyes

When we lived in south Texas, we had a banana tree in our back yard. Well, we called it a tree, because it was so tall, but I’ve since learned, it is not a tree, but an herb. It does not have a ‘true’ tree trunk.
Our banana tree was awesome! I’d never seen one before, and it was taller than the house. The dark green leaves were huge, and I loved listening to them rustle in the breeze. We’d go out every morning and cut off a banana bunch on it’s stalk for our breakfast. They were a bit smaller than what you’d find at the store, but oh, so much better. Plus, it was fun to have them right outside the back door.
One time we’d brought in some, and a green snake fell out of the stalk/bunch. It was wiggling all over the kitchen floor. Of course, the kids and I ran screaming into the back bedroom where we hid, until my husband caught the snake and put it back outside.
Then, on a rare occasion, we had an overnight freeze. Our banana tree was gone…it had frozen and toppled over into the yard. We sure did miss having our fresh bananas, after that.
A photo of our banana tree by the house.

Here’s a couple of purple flowers with bees that I took quite awhile ago. The bees are very busy gathering pollen from the pretty flowers. Next is a photo of 4 cats on the back porch having their kibbles breakfast.

Our daughter gave us the DQ gift card for Christmas, so we used it to buy our lunch a couple of days later. The photo shows the meal of two steak fingers, French fries w/ketchup, TX toast, and a cup of cream gravy. It’s always good. 🙂

Thanks, Ellen! For awhile we had lots of cats coming by for snacks, always cute. Yes, that snake in the bananas sure made us jump back. Just a green snake my husband said and picked it up and put it outside. But I don’t know about snakes! haha 🙂

It must be awesome to have a banana tree.

Thanks, Sadje! It was so fun to have our own banana tree. We sure were sad when it collapsed in the freeze, though. 🙂

How I would have loved having a banana tree! I think the leaves would’ve been useful for lots of things, maybe?
Now I now that banana tree is not a tree but an herb. Who would’ve thought?!
Breakfast food is my favorite too. I can eat it for all my meals if I could.

Thanks, Esther! It was pretty neat to go out and get bananas off the tree. I was amazed it’s not really a tree, too. I’m the same that I like breakfast food at any time of day. 🙂
