Note: I meant to post this for the SOCS this weekend, but just as I finished it, our internet went out. All of Saturday, and part of Sunday it was out. Then somehow it came back on. We’d called the tech people and they were set to come out here today (Mon.) but now it’s working fine, so we canceled the order. No telling why it went out or came back on. Anyway, here is the post:

Clearly I need to have an eye examination. It’s been way too long since I’ve been, and things are pretty blurry now. Definitely not clear.

I have tri-focal lenses in my glasses, and the far away lens part is fairly okay, the medium lens distance is pretty bad, and the close up lens is so-so when trying to read something. I keep having to push up my glasses so the reading lens is in the right place for reading. The mid lens is what is straight on which doesn’t work with reading anything like books or computer printing.

Mostly I’m typing and reading in a blur and just hoping I’m getting it right. Good thing I know how to type by touch and don’t have to look or guess at the letters. I could do this with my eyes closed, and have a few times just to find out. Worked fine.

Anyway, I’d like to see things more clear, so I must make an eye doctor appointment soon.

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

  1. Glad your internet magically started working. Aw, bummer on the glasses. I have trifocals too and just got new glasses at the end of March. It took a while to get used to them and adjusted them properly. Now, I’m a happy camper that can see. I also have a pair of occupational lenses – they come in SO handy for computer work and reading on the treadmill. I’d never go with just one pair again – you might want to consider them since you do enjoy spending time on the computer. 🤗😀

    • Thanks Shelley! Yes, I was glad our internet came back on. Still don’t know why it went off.
It is hard to see the computer screen, and yes I’m on it most of the day. I’d not heard of occupational lenses, but I sure will look into that. Thanks for the information. 🙂

      • We’ve had weird outages too – sometimes its the power. Silly though – we live less than 1/2 mile from the substation.
I’m glad to offer the info – once I got those, I’ll never go back to just a trifocal lens when working on my computer. Trust me, your neck, back and eyes will love you for it! My eye doctor said, “I try to convince people all the time – it is a game changer for those who work on the computer all day.”
