These are called Angel Trumpet, and they do come in different colors. A very dramatic flower, but very poisonous as they are a member of the nightshades, so do not eat, and handle with care – wash your hands after touching them.

I’ve seen these! A school field trip for a botany lesson. Big and beautiful, but yeah, I’d be afraid to grow them!

Thanks, Priscilla! I saw these for sale at a store. I finally knew the name of them (thanks to a fellow blogger). I didn’t know they were poisonous, and the store didn’t have a sign warning about them either! 🙂

Have you seen that device that turns electricity into sound, where they clamp them onto mushrooms and what sounds an awful lot like music comes out? I was stunned at first but then I thought, why not? There is so much we don’t know about nature…

Thanks, Carol Anne! I think so, too. Some people might have bought one of these and it would be awful if a little kid got ahold of it. Needed a warning sign, for sure.
