Happy Monday! Thanks for the questions, Melanie! ๐Ÿ™‚

At 12 a.m. on December 31st/Jan 1st, what will you be doing?ย  (use your own time zone please)

I’ll be sound asleep! We don’t stay up to ring in the New Year. But if I do wake up, I’ll be cursing the people in our neighborhood for popping fire crackers.

Is there a tradition you have for New Yearโ€™s Eve?

None at all. We don’t go out, we don’t party, we are boring. But, on New Year’s day I try to have some black-eyed peas, as it’s supposed to be for good luck.

Do you have any hope or reason you find that next year will be better?

I hope things will be better and that the virus will go away, but doubt that will happen.

Whatโ€™s the biggest personal lesson you learned during 2021?

To stay away from people.

Thanks for visiting! Peace โ˜ฎ๏ธ

  1. We have black eyes peas too. ๐Ÿ™‚ And at midnight we open all the doors ( carefully with no cats around) to let any bad luck out. XO

    • Thanks, Shelley! We used to stay up, and also sometimes go to a friends house for snacks and cards, but that just doesn’t happen anymore. haha 9:30 is my bedtime around here!
Yes, we’ve always had black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day. Maybe it’s a southern thing! haha!
Wishing you and yours a wonderful New Year! ๐ŸŒท

      • You’re welcome! We can’t even make it to 9:30…!! We do get up at 4:15 am, so our bedtime is way earlier than that. You’ve got us beat on being night owls. LOL
That’s interesting. I don’t know that we have a traditional meal on NYD, other than, “Okay, one more cookie and then tomorrow, the diet starts!”
Wishing you and yours a wonderful New Year too! Keep the faith in people, we’re not as bad as the media makes us out to be! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿค—
