Near-ly died! Almost died! Could-a died! Like-ta died! All of those I know I’ve said many times when something is so horrible or scary to me.

Or, I say them when something is so funny I cry tears and my stomach muscles are hurting from laughing so hard.

I had reason to use the first example the other day. Nothing was fun or funny about it.

Not much freaks me out, but this … this …

What it was, was this:

I’d been trying to grow a potato in a jar of water. I used to do this a lot and they make pretty leaf vines. I also had an avocado pit I was trying to grow in water, too. It had put out some roots, but nothing was happening up top. They were on my kitchen window sill.

The potato hadn’t really started sprouting, or maybe just a tiny bit. I was looking close at it to see, but what I saw really freaked me out! OMG!!!! Worms or some kind of creepy creature was swimming around in the water. Well they weren’t really swimming, they were tiny white skinny things just spurting spurting spurting!! EEEE (me screaming)

I ran screaming out of the kitchen to get my husband. Thank goodness he was here to help, otherwise I’d have packed my bags and left home right that minute.

I told him to get rid of it all. First he had to look at them. UGH! He said there were four or five of them in the water. I couldn’t look. I was still shuddering and shivering and going UGH over and over.

He did get rid of all of it, everything that was on the window sill. But, I still can’t get the horribleness out of my mind’s eye. I keep seeing them. Maybe someday I’ll forget.

  1. Ugh, creepy. You could have easily kept this one for Halloween lol. You don’t need to put either in water. Just arixk them in a pot of soil, water and wait until they grow. That’s how I do it 😊

    • Thanks, Bee! You’re right, it would have been a creepy Halloween story! If I ever try growing these again, I’ll keep in mind that they work just fine in a pot of soil! 🙂
