Oooey Gooey – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Butter

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 6, 2021

***

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “butter.” Use it as a noun, use it as a verb, use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

This is a sign I saw at a grocery store a few years ago. It is advertising Gooey Butter Cake. The sign says, ‘Try Kaldi’s Gooey Butter Cake – voted Best in St. Louis – Listed as one of the TOP 100 foods you can try in Columbia’.

I have to agree! I’d never heard of this kind of cake before, but once I ate some, it is soooo good. I’d rate it TOPS too! 🙂

We use real butter for some things in cooking, and sometimes we just use the almost butter.

I remember years ago my parents would go to a dairy and get raw milk. We’d put some in big glass jars and shake and shake and shake and finally it would turn into butter. Lots of work for this, but it tasted really good.

Here’s a tongue twister to try:

Itty- bitty better bogus butter boxes

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

    • Thanks, Joey! We sure liked it when we were up in Missouri visiting our daughter. We don’t have these cakes here, at least I’ve never seen any at the grocery store. I did get a recipe for making one, and it turned out really good. Can’t eat much at once though because it is very rich! 🙂

    • Thanks, Willow! Glad you like this. After posting I thought of another butter story. When I was a kid I got a stick of butter from the refrigerator and ate the whole thing — plus locked my mom out of the house while she watched and yelled at me. haha 🙂

    • Thanks, Jill! They sell them in the grocery stores up in Missouri, where we were visiting my daughter & family. Haven’t seen any around here. Sure is a good cake. 🙂
