Stream of Consciousness Saturday – First Thing

The Friday Reminder for #SoCS & #JusJoJan 2021 Daily Prompt – Jan. 16th

***

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “first thing.” Start your post with the words, “first thing” and go from there. Bonus points if you end your post with the last thing. Have fun!

First thing …

Except there is never a real first thing, because there is always some thing before you get to the first thing.

You may have plans for doing a first thing, but before you can get to doing it there are several other things that have to happen first, before the actual first thing you want to do.

Say I want to make a post for this SOCS challenge. Well first I have to find the email notice that Linda has posted her prompt. Then I have to go there and copy/paste the address thing to my place. That’s to set the pingback.  Then I have to go back and copy the actual prompt, Go back to mine and paste it in. Then go back to hers and get the little picture, go back to mine and paste it in. Then it takes awhile to think of something to say.

Haven’t even got the first thing of writing a post, yet!

But I finally do, and then I sign off with my usual  … hit publish, and that is the –

Last thing

    • Thanks, Laura! Oh those sidetracks … always a few of those, and maybe sometime later we get to the place where we wanted to start in the first place! haha – and I’m thinking the ‘last thing’ is not really ever the last thing, either. There’s the afterwards checking back at the first thing to make sure the first thing was done okay. It never ends does it. 🙂
