Lists – Stream of Consciousness Saturday

Lists – Stream of Consciousness Saturday

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Dec. 5/2020

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “list.” Make or talk about a list. Enjoy!

Today for SOCS we have the prompt word ‘list’. Thanks, Linda!

Note: This is from a post I did way back in 2015 about lists. Hardly anyone saw it, and maybe it’s cheating, but everything I wrote was stream of consciousness, as most of my writing is. Also, I’d just be repeating myself if I were to try another one about lists, because all this is still true, still the same today.

I like reading lists, I like making lists. Once I did post a list … I listed all the stuff that was in my purse one time…can you hear the crickets? No response whatsoever. Anyway, I make lists, but then forget to take them with me to the store. Or, I make a list, and while reading a list at the store, forget to get whatever it is anyway, even though I’m looking at the list.

I have a weird habit, too. I save lots of my lists. I don’t know why, except they are fun to look at later on…like years later…and then I can laugh at the silly things that are on there that I thought was important enough to write down. And the cryptic words that I’ve used to jog my memory are sometimes hilarious…at least to me, but make no sense to anyone else.

So…back to making a list…for this list post…yeah…so many choices…too many choices of which way to take it. I’m at a loss because faced with too many choices makes me freeze up, resulting in doing nothing. I’ve had fun writing ‘about’ lists, so better get on with actually listing something? Yep…here goes… such a silly thing to list, but hey, it’s something! 🙂

My list of favorite computer games that I play every day, because I like them.

Candy Crush … because candy is addicting.

Cradle of Rome …because it’s match 3, and you don’t have to think of anything about the game, so I think about writing things, when I’m playing it.

Enchanted Cavern …same type of match 3 game.

Scrabble … Words again…it’s always about the words.

    • Thanks, John! I do keep a lot of them, just for the fun of looking back to see what we were buying a long time ago. Plus the silly abbreviations and comments and sometimes drawings we add to them make them fun. 🙂

    • Thanks, Ellen! It is interesting to see what we’d listed some time before. Another bunch of lists I have are for books I want to read. So many that sound good, and once in awhile I’ll actually get one from the list. 🙂

  1. Sometimes it’s neat to see lists, or other notes, that have been saved through the years. I’ve got stuff, “handwriting”, from my grandfather. It’s neat to see what they were thinking back them. …could be a treasure to someone someday.

    • Thanks, Holly! You are so right. I can tell who wrote things down by their handwriting. I have lots like this of recipes my mom and my mother in law had written. Plus letters. Mostly my own little reminder notes are silly, once I look back on them – still fun to see, though. 🙂
