Bird Weekly – Short Legged Birds

Bird Weekly – Photo Challenge – Short Legged Birds

Here are some of the short legged birds I’ve seen:

  • Seagulls – seen at the beach at Corpus Christi TX
  • Yellow & black birds at a feeder at Ft. Davis TX
  • Dove (or maybe a Grackle) standing on a swing railing (our front yard)
  • Red breasted robin in our tree in the front yard
  • Grackle standing on a water bowl (with piece of cat food in it’s mouth) on our back porch

  1. Nice ones Barbara. So, the yellow/black birds are called Lesser Goldfinch also known in Texas as the Black-backed or Arkansas Goldfinch. Nice capture there! The bird on the swing is a White-winged Dove. Common in Texas and uncommon in Florida. There used to be a couple of them at Jacksonville Beach, but I haven’t seen them this year. I haven’t seen one since I was in Texas 2 1/2 years ago. Your seagulls are Laughing Gulls! Very photogenic! Nice job this week! 🙂

    • Thanks, Priscilla! I’m glad I got to see the goldfinches when we were in south TX, as we don’t have them up here in our part of TX. At least I’ve never seen one here. 🙂
