Dust – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Phrase?

Dust – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Phrase?

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 27/2020

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “coffee, tea, or me.” Find a flirty phrase of your own or use “coffee, tea, or me” in your post. Have fun!

It is Saturday and time for Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday Challenge. SOCS is fun, so if you want to join in, just click the above link. 🙂

I’m not real sure what this prompt is supposed to be about … flirty phrases, or coffee, or tea, or me?

I did read a book years ago called, “Coffee, Tea, or Me”, and it was pretty funny. If I remember, it was about airline stewardesses and finding dates? Whatever, it was funny, and now I don’t know if it was fiction or true.

Flirty phrases – I never used any, and I never had anyone say any to me that I know of. I don’t really like such things anyway. I’d have to go googling some if I wanted to know any, but I don’t want to know any.

I do like coffee and I do like tea – hot coffee and cold tea. Some people switch it up and have cold coffee drinks, and hot tea. That’s fine if they like it.

What I wanted to talk about is that plume of Sahara desert dust that is spreading around the past few days. Have you heard of it?

It’s slowly covering some southern states, including TX. I have noticed a haze in the sky lately. Not a brown haze, though. They say where we are won’t be but mildly noticeable. Still, it’s strange.

However, if you want dust, just come here on a regular sand storm day when we have totally brown skies for hours if not days, with grit getting everywhere. Those I’m used to.

Not much going on around here today. Hope your Saturday is interesting! Take care & keep safe! ❤

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

  1. My husband I have been unusually tired today. Now I have something to blame it on: Sahara desert dust. Plus, I didn’t have my usual green tea this morning. I looked up Coffee, Tea, or Me and read that the book was originally published as memoir, but later questioned on it’s truthfulness. Most likely they embellished.

    • Thanks, John! I keep looking outside to see if it looks any different out there. So far just sunny, hot, windy, and a bit hazy looking. Wonder how long it will last? 🙂

  2. I read about that massive plume of dust from the Sahara desert in northern Africa which has been traversing the atmosphere, thousands of feet above the tropical Atlantic Ocean, and is now closing in on the Caribbean and and the southeastern United States. It’s so large it has been nicknamed the Gorilla Dust Cloud.

    • Thanks, Jim! I heard it happens every year, but this year it was just so massive it’s made the news. I hadn’t heard they’d named it the Gorilla Dust Cloud – how interesting. Funny how it travels so far in the air like that. 🙂

  3. We have that Saharan dust here. The haze is awful. Since I am purposefully home bound, I just noticed it today despite our morning walks but it has been here since Thursday and should dissipate by Tuesday. One can hope.

  4. Hope none of that dust gets in your tea! I’m in Africa, but sub-Saharan. South Africa to be exact. The nearest desert to me is the Karoo. No Saharan dust clouds down here, though we have our fair share of other environmental challenges.

    • Thanks, Amanda! Nice to hear from you and from so far away! Here in west Texas we are semi-desert anyway, so are used to lots of dust storms and haboobs. For real those days the sand gets into and on everything. Hope your weekend has been good. 🙂

    • Thanks, Priscilla!
It is amazing that dust particles can travel and linger for so long on the air currents, and also that this one is so large they can track it!
Weekend is going good – hot and sunny, yet still somewhat hazy.
Hope all is good where you are, too. 🙂
