Drum, Drums, Music

Hot June night

Amusement park picnic

Families gathered

Native American pow wow

Drumming, dancing, dreaming

Tales to tell – tickets to ride

Heartbeats of the old ways

Merging with the new days

My memories are good ones

Drumbeats stir my old soul

Past Life remembrance

  1. I can feel the connection to the culture in your poem. June is a common time for powwows here but unfortunately they will have to wait.

    • Thanks, Bjorn!
Every summer we’d have a big gathering, with a demonstration of authentic Native Americans dancing and drumming in a pow wow. Then we’d all get free tickets to ride the amusement park rides. 🙂

  2. I love the sound of drumming. A traveling labyrinth came to town once, and the local drum group came and drummed while people walked the labyrinth. It really does call the ancestors in.
