Today Bee has given us the prompt to find the worst love song. Thanks, Bee!

Now, everyone has their own opinion on if they like a song or not. This song I chose is one I don’t like. Oh, it has good music, and the singer is fine, but what he is singing about is just icky to me.

He’s mooning over his best friend’s girlfriend, and wanting her for himself. Not cool, man! Find your own girlfriend! Quit being a stalker!

She doesn’t want a conceited jerk like you, and you seem to want to resort to violence. Get a grip, dude.

From the Wiki article:

The song is about unrequited love and centers on a young man in love with his best friend’s girlfriend.

“Jessie’s Girl”, by Rick Springfield, was released on the album, “Working Class Dog”, in 1981. It was written by Rick Springfield, and is on the RCA Records label.

I never thought about it much, but you are so right. Wonder why that was such a thing back then. The people who wrote the lyrics must have known, but just casual listening, like I do most of the time, I never thought much about it.
I’m sure enjoying the challenge! ❤
