Flower of the Day – Puffball

***

Yes, this is a Dandelion puffball. We have a few of them in our yard, along with some pretty yellow Dandelion flowers. These puffballs are the seeds that fly through the air and land to make more flowers.

Some say you can blow on them to make a wish. 🙂

This photo shows a white puffball on a stem, with green grass as background.

    • Thanks, J.
It was always fun to blow apart the dandelion puffballs. I had no idea they were the seeds until way later on. Still fun, and I like the yellow flowers. Sad people think of them as a weed. 🙂

    • Thanks, Sandee!
I think so too – fun to blow them apart and watch them sail into the wind. I’m not good at growing flowers, but I’d probably be good at growing these ‘weed’ flowers. haha
Hope your day is going good. ❤

    • Thanks, Bill.
They’ve already started blooming out around here. I’ll bet the puffballs I took the picture of yesterday are all blown away by now. The wind is howling out there today. 🙂

  1. One of my favorite flowers when I was small.
And you first think of a wish, you close your eyes and blow very hard and when all the ‘seeds’ are gone, your wish will come true!
It really works like that 😊
