Share Your World Combo

This is a combo SYW from last week and this week.

I’d like to thank Melanie for always coming up with interesting questions! Click the link above to see more. ๐Ÿ™‚

Where do you get your news?

We watch the TV news โ€“ local, and a few minutes of national.

What โ€˜old personโ€™ thing do you do?

Everything I do is โ€˜old personโ€™ because I am one.

When was the coldest youโ€™ve ever been?ย  ย The warmest?

Coldest โ€“ 2015 Blizzard, Warmest โ€“ when our A/C unit went out in the TX summertime.

Do you eat food thatโ€™s past its expiration date if it still smells and looks fine?

No, I donโ€™t eat expired food. Even if it is not expired, if it looks or smells funny I throw it out.

What age would you like to live to?

Whenever … but my soul will live on.

2.ย  What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to?

Where all the stuff I know I have but can’t find goes off to. Sometimes they come back, though.

3.ย  Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?

I’m sure it does.

4.ย  What outdoor activity havenโ€™t you tried, but would like to?

I don’t, nor have I ever enjoyed outdoor activities. Well, this will never happen, but I’d like to walk in the woods.

Thanks for visiting! Peace โ˜ฎ๏ธ

  1. Great answers. I through food out too, unless it is just a day or two past the expiration date and depending on what it is. I’m like you though if it is questionable, even if not past the date, it’s in the trash.

    • Thanks, Janet!
I figure it’s better to be safe than sorry when dealing with food. It’s probably wasteful at times, but I sure don’t want to take a chance on getting sick. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks, Vanessa!
I’ve only seen any woods maybe twice ever, and had to travel hundreds of miles to get there. It was a wonderful experience though, many years ago. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks, John!
heh heh – That’s probably not what the question was asking for, but still … I guess sometimes if we think of it, we get the senior discount at restaurants. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thanks Barbara for Sharing Your World! Walks in the woods are really grand, well until one’s underpinnings are wasted and then it’s more endurance and pain than enjoyable! Like you, I’ve never greatly admired extreme outdoor activities. Have a great week! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Honestly, I think you’re the only person whose SYW answer was no to expired food. I was feelin like a freak, but I’m okay now, because WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT!
As to how you’ve never walked in the woods, I can’t fathom. Not a lot of forests out your way, I reckon? Here, you can’t even walk in the city without small wooded areas.

    • haha! I’m always saying that – when in doubt, throw it out. And I do throw it out, even if it’s probably fine, but if I’m not sure – out it goes.
Yeah, no woods anywhere near here at all. We’re flat fields and prairie land. Now, people have planted trees in their yards, and we have a park or two, but even those are sparse for trees. The woods I’ve seen were once in NM (Red River in the summer), and in east TX once & I got poison ivy that time. Driving time between here and those are about 6 1/2 hours, and 7 1/2 hours away. Oh, and basically nothing much to see on the drives either. ๐Ÿ™‚
