jad·ed
/ˈjādəd/
adjective
  1. tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something.
“meals to tempt the most jaded appetites”

I don’t really like this word, but I suppose we are jaded when it comes to thinking up something to buy at the grocery store, or what to fix for meals. It’s always the same old things, and we are tired of it all.

I know there are recipes everywhere you look, but we don’t even like to read them. We don’t want to buy a bunch of ingredients that we’d probably only use once, on the off chance the food wouldn’t be any good, anyway.

So, we stick to making whatever is easy and that we know is good – it’s just we are tired of eating it.

We are jaded.

  1. I always have trouble with the word jaded because it looks like it should mean you just got the wool pulled over your eyes… when it actually means something entirely different. For that reason, I try not to use it!

    • It is a funny kind of word. Maybe it’s because it rhymes with ‘shaded’ as in the wool being pulled over your eyes? I don’t think I’ve ever used that word when I’m talking, either. 🙂
