Today, for SLS, we were given the prompt words – chin/ears/eyes/face/mouth/nose. Lots of facial features to choose from this week. I went with ‘lips’. Thanks, Jim!

When I saw all the prompt words, I was kind of overwhelmed – there are so many songs to choose from. Most I saw were about eyes and lips, not so many about noses, ears, or chins.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Rudolph, though, with his red nose! But, later on we’ll have Christmas prompts, so didn’t want to use this one.
So, I went searching and found this one. I hadn’t heard it before, but I do like a lot of her songs. It’s a really cute one, with shades of her big hit “All About That Bass”. The article said this one proved she wasn’t just a one hit wonder. She sings about a boyfriend that is probably cheating on her, but still sweet talks her, and she knows if he’s talking, he’s probably lying.

Some interesting facts about the video (from the Wiki article) which describes it very well –
In the song’s music video, Trainor sings into a red microphone in front of a pastel blue backdrop in a black leather jacket. She is sometimes with backup dancers, surrounded by the television screens.[49] Lips are used as a motif throughout the video; they appear as close-ups of Trainor’s mouth and as a large drawing of lips used as a backdrop. Yahoo! Music writer Lyndsey Parker compared the video to a huge pair of lips featured in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.[48] Trainor wears lip-shaped earrings and sunglasses in the video, and is seen lying on a lip-shaped sofa. Parker compared the sofa in the video to the sofas used in the American television program So You Think You Can Dance.[48] The video’s set changes constantly; props are elevated on-and-off screen by workers throughout the clip.[46]

[Verse 1]
Boy, look at me in my face
Tell me that you’re not just about this bass
You really think I could be replaced
Nah, I come from outer space
And I’m a classy girl, I’mma hold it up
You’re full of something but it ain’t love
And what we got, straight overdue
Go find somebody new
[Chorus]
I know you’re lyin’
Cause your lips are movin’
Tell me, do you think I’m dumb?
I might be young, but I ain’t stupid
Talking around in circles with your tongue
I gave you bass, you gave me sweet talk
Saying how I’m your number one
But I know you lie
Cause your lips are movin
Baby don’t you know I’m done?
[Verse 2]
Hey baby don’t you bring them tears
Cause it’s too late, too late baby
You only love me when you’re here
You’re so two-faced, two-faced babe
[Chorus]
I know you’re lyin’
Cause your lips are movin’
Tell me, do you think I’m dumb?
I might be young, but I ain’t stupid
Talking around in circles with your tongue
I gave you bass, you gave me sweet talk
Saying how I’m your number one
But I know you lie
Cause your lips are movin
Baby don’t you know I’m done?
[Chorus]
I know you’re lyin’
Cause your lips are movin’
Tell me, do you think I’m dumb?
I might be young, but I ain’t stupid
Talking around in circles with your tongue
I gave you bass, you gave me sweet talk
Saying how I’m your number one
But I know you lie
Cause your lips are movin
Baby don’t you know I’m done?
