As usual, when the topic is so wide open, and there are so many ways to go with it, I come to a stand-still. Too  many choices to know what to do.

There are actual dreams we have when we are asleep, with all kinds of maybe meanings of them.

There are dreams and hopes for what we do in our life.

There are visions and day-dreams, and on and on …

I’ve kept dream journals for years. Even when I was a kid, I’d write down what dream I had in the night. I have many, many of these journals. It’s fun to look back and read about them. Most are strange, some felt real, and some I could connect to whatever had been going on in the days previously.

I never dug deep to find out any special meanings, though.

I still have dreams at night, but for some reason the memory of them disappear when I wake up.

I’ve had a few actual visions – a scene that I’ve had while awake, and then they turn out to be true.

I’ve had shared dreams – where my dream and my daughter’s dream have coincided at the same time.

Dreams are a strange phenomena, and so interesting. I like to think of them as ‘mind movies’. You never know if it will be a love story, a drama, or a nightmare horror story.

I believe that at times, our loved ones who have passed on come to us in our dreams. That’s always nice.

Anyway, I’ll wish you all sweet dreams, and leave you with this little song.

  1. So many good dreamy songs! That’s really cool that you have visions that come true and dreams that coincide with your daughter’s. When I used to keep a dream journal next to my bed, I remembered a lot more of my dreams. It was entertaining. I keep thinking I might do that again.

    • Thanks, JoAnna! I’m always surprised when that happens, and think it’s pretty neat. I wish I remembered more of my dreams these days.
There are way more songs than I knew, that had the topic of dreams. Some I hadn’t heard in a long time. 🙂

    • Dreams are fascinating – you never know what kind of interesting ‘movie’ you’ll see in the night. I’m pretty sure animals have dreams, too, as we see them moving their feet and ears, and making little noises. 🙂

  2. My dreams are so weird and random (kind of like my blog!). I saw somewhere a long time ago that one of the explanations for dreams is that our brain sorts out mental images and memories while we sleep and occasionally some of those pass through the visual part of our minds. Given that a lot of what I dream about is recent things… only with some vintage background (like the house I haven’t lived in since 2009), I think it’s as good an explanation as any!

    • Weird and random – that sure describes dreams, doesn’t it. I like that sorting out part. Wonder why sometimes we have the same dream over & over through the years. I’ve had that happen – and mostly they are the scary ones. 🙂

  3. I don’t really dream (or don’t remember when I do) so I don’t have a dream journal but I did make a Dreamboard journal and each month around the full moon I make a collage page. Helps me keep in touch with my goals.
