Word Fun – Stream of Consciousness Saturday ‘ght’

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 9/19

***

Today, for SOCS, our prompt is to use words with the letters, ‘ght’ in them. Thanks, Linda!

To join in this fun weekly challenge, just click the above link for details. You can see other entries, also.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ght.” Find a word that contains the letters “ght” in that order, and use it any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use three or more different words containing those letters. Have fun!

I’m fraught with thought to think I ought to post a post of laughter

Caught within the ‘ght’ a night of fright

Bright ideas did not delight

Right about midnight I was taught

A regular post might be better

***

Yep, that’s me trying to cram a bunch of words with ‘ght’ into something … something …

And that was 13 of the ‘ght’ words. Oooh number 13!

Is that still the height (or heighth) of superstition, now that Halloween is past?

~

And now I’m back from a breakfast break. I look at the ‘ght’ words and they look funny. Seems the more you look at a word, or repeat a word it gets to being strange. Does that happen to you? Then you question whether it’s spelled right.

Height doesn’t look right, but I looked it up, and it is. I thought a rule (most of the time) was that i comes before e, but it doesn’t in this word.  Hmmm Still looks wrong.

Oh yeah, I was reading in my book while eating breakfast. It’s the 6th of a series called the ‘Gone’ books, by Michael Grant. The title of this one is “Light”.  A good case for serendipity! 🙂

Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

    • Exactly! Reminds me of an old ‘I Love Lucy’ episode, where Ricky is reading a story to his son, and getting all the tough, through, thought, etc. all confused. 🙂

  1. Your plight for ght words was understandable 🙂 After a while, there really is that thing about how words stop looking right.
    — It still feels a bit Halloweeny to me here, too. Time may be flying by!

    • haha! I know – the more you look at a word, the more it looks wrong. We had a little bit of Halloween around here – not a whole lot of kids came by. We had some really cold days already, but today it’s beautiful out there. Thanks, Joey! 🙂

  2. Yes, I think Samhain was on the 7th this year, so feeling that vibe linger! Height was the first “ght” word that came to my mind – and I agree, those words look strange after a while! I want to see that I Love Lucy episode that you mentioned in the comments. Maybe I can find a clip.

    • Thanks, Ka!
I do like the customs of honoring the lives of those who have passed on, and shouldn’t be reserved for just a certain time of year. Samhain, Dia de los Muertos, Bon Odori, are wonderful traditions.
I want to look up that funny clip, too. I haven’t seen it in a long time. 🙂
