Share Your World X 3

I’ve missed answering some recent questions for SYW, so wanted to do them now.  🙂

Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) a good thing, a bad thing or a mixture of both?

I’m thinking social media can be a mixture of both good and bad at times. It’s good for maybe keeping up with friends and family through posts, there are plenty of things to read, see, and listen to, and gives people a chance to share photos and writings. It can be bad when it is abused with derogatory comments and posts, and because of the trolls and spammers.

Are you camera shy or do you pose for the camera with confidence?

I’ve never liked having my picture taken. Don’t ever like how they turn out. So, I’m the one always taking pictures of everyone else. Sometimes I have my picture taken just to prove I was there, haha, but I don’t share them much.

Is there anything you’ve kept from younger years for sentimental reasons alone?

Oh, don’t get me started! I save most everything, like my childhood diary, some knick-knacks, letters, photos, scrapbooks, etc. I even have some of my old homework from elementary school in a scrapbook, and the stuff my mom kept from when I was a baby.

Do you like to decorate for different holidays?

I used to decorate for all the holidays when the kids were little. I don’t really do anything for any holiday any more. I have a teeny tiny dollar store Christmas tree I’ll set up on a shelf. That’s about it.

Why do we have such trouble telling our loved ones that we love them?  Do you have that kind of communication issue with your loved ones?

I have never had trouble telling my loved ones how much I love them. Our whole family does this all the time.

Above question inspired by this short, poignant blog post:

Decorations for holidays?   Spirit lifters or pain in the butt?   Or a mix?

I don’t decorate very much at all any more. I used to, and loved doing it, but now the kids are grown and have families of their own, I just enjoy seeing their decorations.

Are you too superstitious or  have you ever played with a Ouija Board?

No, I’m not really superstitious, but will do the knock on wood thing, just in case. Yes, I’ve in the past used a Ouija board, with some fun results, and also some very spooky results. I’ll never do it again.

This week please share a photo or image of what ‘harvest’ and “Autumn” mean to you!   Thanks!

Earlier this week Rory asked a question that I found so interesting, I thought I’d share it.  Another question, similar to this one was asked in August, but this one is unique.

If confronted with a violent crime against a single individual in progress (severe beating, rape, assault) do you try to do something about it (phone authorities or confront the criminal, stop the crime) or do you figure it’s none of your business and walk or drive on by?  Worse (to me) would you record the crime for social media use without doing anything else?

Long question & my short answer = if it was happening to my immediate family member, then I’d do my best to help. For a stranger, and at a distance, I’d just call the authorities.

Okay now we got the heavy stuff out of the way, let’s get to some less stressful questions.

If someone asked to be your apprentice and learn all that you know, what would you teach them?

I’m not an expert of anything, so couldn’t really teach. I could maybe tell them what worked for me, as to writing, art, or blogging, but that’s about it. Oh, I could give them some favorite recipes that work out good.

First think of a product. Now, what would be the absolute worst brand name for one of those products?

The compression hosiery socks = Ankle Squeezers

What ridiculous and untrue, yet slightly plausible, theories can you come up with for the cause of common ailments like headaches or cavities?

Movies are the cause for both headaches & cavities.

At the theater, movies = too loud sound – too large picture on screen will give you a headache

Movie snacks = soda, popcorn, candy all known cavity causes.

A little bit of fun at the movies = a lot of pain later, so stop watching movies! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

  1. I’m the same as you on holiday decorations. For us, child-leaving-home was the significant event, up to them we felt we had to do something.

I was tagged last week to take part in this, but didn’t have time this week (and didn’t get tagged anyway 🙂 ).

    • Thanks! The kids enjoyed all the decorations, as did I, and now they decorate their own homes for their children. For awhile too, our cats would not leave the decorations alone, so we pretty much quit, with just the two of us here now.
I don’t think you have to be tagged to do this challenge. Every week Melanie has new questions, and everyone is invited to participate. 🙂
